Johnny Depp Remake Chances Growing Thin

Johnny Depp Thin Man

It looks like the Johnny Depp vehicle The Thin Man might not be a good fit for Warner Bros right now.

Rob Marshall was set to direct the remake of the 1934 classic, but word is he’s going Into The Woods for his next project.

No word from Warner on any problems with the detective film itself, but the underperformance of Depp’s last remake, the vampire soap Dark Shadows, might be a clue.

It could be Warner Bros are waiting to see if the high budget Lone Ranger reboot finds the stirrup before investing in yet another $100 million remake.

Or maybe the recently single Nick just needs some time to find a new Nora!

Although the movie might not ever happen, the 6 month long heroin and cocaine binge designed to help him lose all the weight was totally worth it. He's SO method!

Nick Charles was hired to find the thin man. Nick Charles was not the thin man. The thin man in the movie had a minor role. Get your movie history straight, Perez! I'm glad that they are not doing a remake. It would bomb just like the recent remake of the 1939 classic The Women.

Re: poodlewithamohawk – Poodle, I agree, read a lot of mystery novels and fiction growing up and do not think he is a good choice. Why not try hiring some of those out of work writers and come up with something original?

I would love to see them make a Raymond Chandler movie, probably the closest they came was Chinatown.
