Dick Cheney's Daughter Marries Her Partner!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikLove Line

Mary Cheney Heather Married

Take note, conservatives! This is happening to one of your own!

We're sending out a huge congratulations to Dick Cheney and his whole family as his daughter Mary Cheney just married her longtime partner Heather Poe on Friday morning!!

After the happy nuptials were over, Mary shared with the press her delighted sentiments, saying:

"Very happy to announce that as of this morning, Heather and I are legally married (at least in DC). 20 years to the day after our first date."

We're so so happy for the couple!

Despite being a conservative republican, Dick has endorsed same sex marriage in 2009 … and look how much stronger its made his family!

And guess what, all you other conservative republicans who haven't: now he has a wonderfully wedded daughter — and a brand new daughter in law!

Sounds like a happy family to us, and nobody got hurt in the process!

Imagine that!

Congrats again, Mary and Heather! Best of luck!

If there were more gay couples like Heather & Mary who were in the public eye, it would do a lot more to promote gay marriage , and acceptance
Than when people see the nasty group of gays, who recently went to the White House, and disrespected a portrait of Ronald Reagan

Over one hundred years ago only whites could marry. Then citizens of any ethnicity could marry one another but not inter-racially. Now all men and women of any ethnicity can marry one another. It is time for people in America and around the world to accept that the possibilities of love are endless and that the risks and responsibilities of marriage should be bestowed upon any willing and able individual. America is not going to crumble, fall apart, or slip into the sea. America will uphold its constitutional obligation to a minority long overshadowed by religious and political agendas much like many other minorities have been in the past.

Re: JRGeo0 – No, only 60 years ago people that were of black-white mixed marriages couldn't marry.

I appreciate your post but please don't make it seem like interracial marriage was legal at the turn of the 20th century. It was a huge fight and struggle, and it was most pointed at black-white couples.

I am a fiscal conservative and I don't care what anyone does in the privacy of their own home… Furthermore, need I remind you that MANY liberals oppose gay marriage? Remember, Obama JUST changed his stance in time for the election… three months ago he also did NOT support gay marriage, not too mention that aside from obtaining political capital, he had done NOTHING to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (which passed while President Clinton was in office).

My point being: stop being so narrow-minded Perez. There are plenty of conservatives who support gay rights, and there are countless scores of liberals who do not. Not everything can be broken down by party lines.

I can't believe there are 13 comments here and only 3 of them are positive- shame on you! Haven't you ever heard if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Congratulations to the happy couple! 20 years after their 1st date, they are married. That's awesome!
