Ready for some new
We mentioned about a month ago that Lifetime had been eyeing up Marc Cherry’s Devious Maids and now it looks like they've nabbed the show!
The network has officially picked up the Desperate Housewives creator’s new show, ordering 13 episodes for a 2013 launch!
While the show was originally produced for ABC, the network ended up passing on the dramedy series!
In a joint statement, Lifetime’s president Nancy Dubuc and EVP Rob Sharenow said:
“This show and Marc Cherry’s unique story telling voice perfectly articulate Lifetime’s strategy of attracting top-tier creatives with their most original and exciting projects.”
The scripted show will follow the lives of maids, living and working for Beverly Hills' elite. Ugly Betty’s Ana Ortiz stars alongside Judy Reyes, Dania Ramirez and Roselyn Sanchez, as well as soap opera queen, Susan Lucci!
Although the pilot was shot in Bel Air and other parts of El Lay, production will be taking place in Atlanta for tax incentive purposes. Lifetime also films their hit Drop Dead Diva in ATL, as well!
Sounds like Devious Maids will be THE perfect fit for Lifetime!!
We are SO ready for the new show to help fill the void that Desperate Housewives left behind!
