    ugh. is it october already? I mean seriously…my brother is gay, my friends are gay…and THEY don't get this. So next week am I supposed to march in a hetero parade? and what is it…black tie or business casual? c'mon…let's all grow up already.

    WRONG, asshole. Everything about that photo screams CLICHE. WTF is wrong with the "gay community" that it whines about not being accepted, and then does parades that flaunt every stereotype the "gay community" alleges to hate? And why do you need a parade about what you people do with your genitals? Do you see any heterosexual pride parades where we humiliate ourselves by playing to every outlandish and ridiculous stereotype? No, this is definitely not a win. This is a huge LOSE. And this is why no one takes gays seriously. Don't get mad at everyone else, look at yourselves.

    Oh silly Pride Week, succumbing to all the stereotypes many gays are trying to disassociate from. I find it more inspiring when you see mature heartfelt speeches from homosexuals or the children they raised. Like that man who spoke to congress about his 2 moms. I am all for gay rights, but do people think their cause can be taken seriously by the more uptight voters when they glitter bomb and act like ridiculous fools?

    Not sure who the guy is in the leopard shirt, but he jumped on the Float of the Imperial Court of NY. Which is an organization that raises MILLIONS of dollars for the community & people in need. The theme was "Fairytales" as for the guy jumping on the float…He was just having a little fun! Get a sense of humor people!!

    like i said. grow up. adults are taken seriously. children are discounted. there are too many rights issues, etc. at stake to continue acting childish.

    This is typical of what the news shows every year too. Most gays are not like this or dress up in leather, they are normal people. The float that always used to get the most applause and a standing ovation was always PFLAG, most of us were embarrassed with the others.

    Fighting amongst ourselves? Well, there's a productive activity.

    Being outlandish and seen, or 'normal' and hidden is not the problem here. The problem will always be the mentality that GLBT is perverse and must be "cured". Stay focused.

    The Imperial Court System is campy, ridiculous and some might say outlandish. This gets them attention. That attention helps them raise awareness. That awareness helps them raise money. That money goes right back into their individual communities, the national community and the International community. And by community, I do not just mean the GLBT community.

    So if someone cannot look past the 'outlandishness' and see what these people are actually doing, then who is it really that needs to grow up?
