Teenage Texas Lesbian Couple Shot In Park

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GaySad Sad

Ugh! How heartbreaking!

A teenage lesbian couple was found with gun shot wounds to their heads while laying in a grassy area of a Texas park.

19-year-old Mollie Judith Olgin died as a result of the attack, but fortunately, her 18-year-old girlfriend Mary Christine Chapa is in stable condition in the hospital.

Investigators don't have too many leads and aren't sure what the motive was for the murder. Close friends can't think of any reason that these two were targeted either. In the news report (above), the roommate of the deceased told sources:

"I've been trying to think of anyone that I know that would actually want to harm them for any reason, and especially for them being a couple, and not one person has ever come to mind."

This is an especially tragic and startling incident for the quiet community located just outside of Corpus Christi since the last homicide happened two years ago.

Regardless of the killer's motivations, we hope the person responsible for the heinous crime will be caught and brought to justice.

    awful…just aswful.

  2. 2

    I think it was a murder/suicide.

  3. 3

I'm betting it is a love triangle, another jilted girl friend.

  4. 4

That's really sad! IF it is due to their sexuality, people (other gays) may want to take heed, Im just saying…some pople, homophobes are not ready for gays in public.

Re: CaliCoyote – That was my first thought too, but it is usually pretty obvious when that happens, and they come out and say so right away. Very sad regardless of what happened.

Perez is going to try to make it look like the fact that these two are lesbians is the cause because he's desperate for another gay issue. He always tries to create drama and is dead wrong most of the time. He's pathetic.

Re: boogiewoogie – I'm not a homophobe; I have several gay friends and love them dearly for who they are, not what they do with their genitals. That said, I am not interested in displays of homosexual affections in public. I'm also not into displays of heterosexual affections in public either. It's the insecure who feel the need to show everyone else that they (finally) have someone, and that's actually almost as pathetic as Perez is. My point to you is that you don't need to bring out the "homophobe" label. When you do that, you play into the hands of the moron that is Perez.

Horrible…but potentially the comments are even worse such as Cali and ray's actually trying to make it worse than it already is.

I was watching a "Snapped" (true crimes committed by women) marathon over the weekend with almost an identical scene. Two lovers walking through the park at night. One was shot in the head and killed iinstantly and the other person involved had a superficial gun shot wound and survived. The story goes on that the one who lived wanted out of the relationship to be with her new lover so she had that person shoot them both down in the park. just thought I would share……..

This is what happens in a country like the US and especially a state like Texas where religion and politicians demonize being gay. Hate breeds more hate, and STR8 haters breed more haters.

  10. 10

its an awful thing that has happened, I live 20mins from this town, very heart breaking..

Re: JT – excuse me Im from Texas and we arent all like that!! its everywhere just not Texas!

I love how the cop (who don't want to stir any bad publicity) haven't called this, or at least, considered this as a hate crime. These two girls need to be brought to justice! They're just little girls, and this is disgusting that people aren't pursuing this more agressively.

This will probably disappear next week, and be forgotten, while a killer is loose in the city.

Re: bretticus21 – I think it would be reckless of the police to call this a "hate crime" until they at least talk with the young lady who is still alive (and able to speak, according to the LA times). Hate crimes are very serious. Labeling it a hate crime ONLY because these two ladies are gay without any further information would be based on perception, not fact. This is, indeed, terrible.

  16. 16

Hilton always suggests something like this is automatically a hate crime against gays, it's why he made sure he said lesbian couple in the headline. It's not about the couple, it's about whether they are gay or not. It is just another opportunity for Hilton to pathetically manipulate the story. Hilton cries foul when a straight labels someone gay, it's a totally different story when he does it. And he does it constantly.

Re: JT – Unless you've lived in different parts of Texas, you shouldn't judge. I'm from the town this happened in and things like this NEVER happen.

  18. 18

so we dont know the motive, nor the suspect and yet Perez qualify this as a "heinous crime". Loves it when he's trying to sound smart… and fail

Re: JT – it use to be that Texas had the highest rate of hate crimes, but no longer. California has five times more hate crime than texas with Michigan following closely in suit. I don't think it has to do with the particular state in which one lives, but the individuals that demonize being gay. Yes: people use religion and politics as a scapegoat for their true hatred for human rights and life.

geez perez always makes it into a gay issue. who really knows what happened! I'm a gay man myself and I hate the way perez does this crap. I come on his site cuz i love celebrity gossip. but when he does this crap…it pisses me off. its ok for him to right away say it was a hate crime and blame it on striaght people, but when its done to him he calls you out! He's such a hyprocite and it drives me nuts. I feel terrible for these two young girls, but we don't know the full story yet. To assume its a hate crime is absurd. perez needs to quit with this gay movements crap. im sorry but, everyone has a right to their own opinion, and not everyone is ok with gay people. its just how it is. we cant make everyone be ok with everything.

    Re: Sean

Whether or not you or anyone is "comfortable" with displays of affection, it doesn't warrant two MURDERS. The excuses and explanations that are given sometimes are just as disgusting as the event itself. How ridiculous.

  22. 22

This is just awful. It breaks my heart. I regularly visit Perez Hilton's site, and I had not heard about this tragedy until I saw it here.

I teach high school - at a nearby school - close to where these young ladies were found. I haven't lived in the Corpus Christi area for too long, but one thing is certain, and I am proud to say, this area is generally very open towards the gay and lesbian community (yes, this is Texas, but mind you, TX is a big state. Lots of areas are very, very, very open in regards to the gays and lesbians despite what TV tells you).

Whatever the inexcusable motive behind this, I hope it was not a hate crime of any sort. They are sooooo young, and were just trying to enjoy their weekend. I cannot imagine how painful it must be for their families, friends, and especially for Mary Kristene Chapa. My prayers will be with them. Their town, Portland, is a beautiful town- full of great people. I bet they are just torn up about this. It is not only shocking for the whole area, but very very very sad. </3

Thanks Perez for posting this. These girls deserve the upmost respect. Let's just keep them all in our prayers / thoughts, etc.

"Regardless of motives" huh clearly hate crime. I'm disgusted …I'm so sad for queer youth and the community continuous struggle

  25. 25

Re: Stef – I wonder how many straights were murdered in the name of hate on the same day.

  26. 26

It's backlash against the pushing of the gay agenda. If gay marriage isn't banned, it will only get worse.

  27. 27

Re: Omniscient Gal – "I am not a homophobe"

Your posts on this site speak for themselves, and they beg to differ. Also, if two people holding hands or kissing in public makes you uncomfortable, YOU are the insecure one, not them.

  28. 28

Re: manny – Manny, thhe way that PEEREX represents the gay community is truly disturbing. constantly outing people, drawing cum on mouths, and hearts on crotches, refering to his pants getting wet and tight over pictures of men, both gay and astraight, posting pictures of himself acting like he is shitting in beibers mouth. His hyper sexualization gives people who do not know and are not friends with any gays, the impression that all gays are as creepy as he is.
I am truly surprised that the community supports him at all.

Re: Mad Dog – It's not the fault of the gay agenda, but the fault of narrow-minded religious idiots who have yet to realize that AMERICA was founded to escape from religious persecution. And for all those right wing crap pieces quoting Leveticus, to call gays that GOD himself creates an abomination, let's see even one of them who wouldn't be stoned to death based on the other policies in the same section of the bible….too many disgusting people eating shellfish and swine (forbidden in Leveticus), and watching girl on girl porn condemning gays. May all the hypocrites rot in hell.

You know what's awful? The damn comments like, "It was a murder/suicide." or "Love triangle." Mollie was my friend. She was an amazing person with a bright future, as was Kristene. They have so many people that love them, so many that respect them and their relationship. Portland, my hometown, was a safe and accepting community. In fact, I used to walk through that park all the time at night before I moved. They were viciously murdered and our whole area is heartbroken by it. But I guess it's easy to assume things when you don't actually know the facts.

Everyone talks about hate and all that mess and yet people on here hate on Perez for the stuff he post's. If you don't like then why return here to his site and I will say it again "HIS SITE" he posts the most recent news about everything and yet I see comments of people just hating and hating man this society is twisted. Two young ladies are no longer with us over god knows what. If where going to stop any kind of hate start with yourself and voice your opinion without hating on people.
