Terrible TSA Agent Unplugs Metal Detectors, Causes Severe Flight Delays

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True

Pete Wentz TSA Airport

This is just embarrassing for all parties involved!

Several flights and hundreds of passengers were delayed for hours over the weekend when TSA Officer Alija Abdul Majed failed to notice one of his metal detectors was unplugged!!

Many passengers at JFK Airport who already passed through the checkpoint were forced to deplane, turn around, and re-enter security lines all over again!

That sounds annoying, sure — but agents had to ensure nobody possessed prohibited metal items like knives, guns, or fingernail clippers.

One law enforcement agent said of the snafu:

"The truth is, this is the failure of the most basic level of diligence… How can you expect the public to feel confident of the mission of the TSA if they don't even know if the lights are turned on?"

We like standing in line in socks as much as the next guy, but this is just ridiculous!!

i'm no racist and racial profiling is usually bull, but the dude's name is Alija Abdul Majed. I hope someone looks into this as more than a random mistake.

Ummm….Nice that they tried to rectify the situation, by de-boarding passengers and sending them back through security, but couldn't someone just hide something illegal before they were sent back through? Just saying. Makes me feel REAL safe! :/

But what the heck happened to Pete Wentz? That hair/receding hairline = Not the look.

Thats what you get when you hire legions of brainless morons for $10 an hour instead of, you know, actual professionals.

Not good, & TSA is far from perfect. They do some good work as well, last week they confiscated 29 guns, 28 were loaded :

Re: @knakao – According to their 70% failure rate to detect contraband, if they confiscated 29 guns, that means they missed about 70. you have to use your brain more, stop buying the propaganda and look deeper into just numbers and stats. I could say a gave a movie 5 stars and you would think that meant I loved it, unless I gave it 5 stars out of 100. Don't be fooled by them.
