Michael Jackson Memorabilia Tops Auction On The Third Anniversary Of His Death

Michael Jackson lyrics sell for $40K

On the eve of the three-year anniversary of his death, Michael Jackson memorabilia were the highest selling items at the Music Icons and Sports Legends auction.

Buyers paid $40,625 for the handwritten lyrics to his classic single Billie Jean and $50,000 for a 1984 Video Music Award that he won.

He's not the only dead celebrity still making bank. Elvis Presley's motorcycle jacket and pants sold for $41,600, while a Whitney Houston Grammy dress sold for $20,480 and a robe worn by Amy Winehouse in the music video for Rehab auctioned off for $34,375.

Madonna proved you don't have to be dead to be in demand though. A negligee she wore on her Blonde Ambition tour sold for $34,375 as well.

The Queen and King of Pop stillll got it!

    You know, I never appreciated what a great artist and performer he was until after he died and my favorite radio station (which usually plays smooth) jazz started playing his records nonstop all afternoon. What an amazing performer.
