Is Celine Dion Cheaping Out On Her Employees?! According To New Lawsuit, YES!

NO! We HATE to hear this about her!

Celine Dion and her husband, Rene Angelil, are currently being sued by their former warehouse manager, Keith Sturtevant, who claims that while he worked at the couple's home in Hobe Sound, Florida, the couple "improperly and illegally designated [Sturtevant] as an exempt employee."

Translation: they didn't have to pay him overtime despite the fact that he worked more than 40 hours per week on a regular basis! Gah, what?!

Furthermore, despite his manager title, he maintains he was treated as no more than a handyman, and he "did not have the power to hire or fire employees."

And the worst part?!

According to the legal documents, he isn't the only employee on whom they pulled this, and he is demanding all of his back overtime wages since he started in 2009.


We sincerely hope that if this is true, the diva and her husband take care of this immediately!

They make FAR too much money to be treating their employees this way!

Such a shame! Here's hoping there's some sort of explanation behind all of this…

    The explanation is that a lot of these rich and famous people are only generous a) when someone is looking and they get good press, or b) when it is worthwhile for taxes.

    If it's true (and who knows — so many lies on these sites) it is pathetic. Wouldn't surprise me. Most wealthy people do this stuff all the time. That is what is wrong with this country.

    This seriously couldn't be farther from the truth of the type of people that Celine and Renee are. I know for a fact from current and past employees of her's that working with them was the best job of their entire careers. Not only are they insanely generous people, but they care deeply about their employees. I'm sure this is a twisted story and just another greedy a-hole trying to take advantage of one of the most down to earth celebrities in the business.

    I'm sure this is BS. Celine Dion is one of the most generous people! She picked up take-out food where my friend works in New York City and she left $100 (more than the bill)!!!! And she's had the same musicians for over 25 years (!!) and the same chef - and they don't sue. I'm sure when we find out the real story, this employee will feel sorry. The fishy part is this… Who the hell would sue a boss for unpaid extra hours??? Just talk to the boss. Why sue??? This employee cleary has ulterior motives.

    You forgot the report something!!! That employee aknowledged he got a $13,000 salary increase!!! Who the hell get that kind of increase on a $50,000 salary???? That guy is so dead. Celine is one of the most generous people out there. Always doing charity work and fundraisers for sick children. I'm glad they fired that a-hole!!!

    Well guess what, I worked for a major multinational and they classified about 75% if us as exempt. THey did have something for exempt employess called an Extended Work Week but you only got paid straight time, not hourly wages. This is quite common in California not sure about Nevada.

    I'm sure he had an awesome starting salary and let's clear this up….Who really thinks that Celine is the one to do the payroll and decide what the handyman gets paid?
