We maaay have just run up and down some small hills belting out at the top of our lungs in sheer excitement!

The Sound Of Music is coming to NBC!

And not as a new movie, or some weird, conceptual TV show…

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s final collaboration will debut on your small screens, as a live, stage-play production, brought to you by SMASH producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron!

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt recently stated:

"There used to be a tradition of broadcasting musicals live back in the 1950s, and we’re thrilled to do it once again with a musical that has been a family classic for five decades."

The throwback event will include popular songs from the 1965 movie version, with additional, less-known tunes from the original theater production, all sung live.

And get your curtain-dresses ready, cause casting begins RIGHT NOW!

OOoooo this is sure to be one of our new, favorite things!!!
