Mel Gibson's anger issues have struck again!
The troubled actor has become infamous for his rage-filled rants and, as it turns out, even his own step-mother doesn't get a break.
Following in Oksana Grigorieva's footsteps, 78-year-old Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson — who married Mel's father in 2001 — has filed for a restraining order against her step-son because he's lost his shiz on her a NUMBER of times.
Court documents describe at least four different incidents when he verbally abused her or threatened her to the point of tears. In one particular screaming match, she claims, "He was so close that I could feel his spit hitting my face."
All the tension between the two apparently comes from Hutton Gibson's failing health. He has recently been suffering from an unnamed illness, but his wife doesn't agree with the experimental medical treatments that Mel and his sister Maura want him to receive.
After expressing her opposition to the Lethal Weapon star last October, Teddy explains:
"Mel began yelling and saying, 'f*ck this and f*ck that' while leveling other extremely offensive language at me."
While accompanying Mel, Maura and her hubby on a trip to Panama in March, the volatile actor's temper struck again. She declined his offer to sample food he was cooking and he did not take kindly to her refusal. In the court docs, the woman explains:
"Mel looked at me in disgust and said that I was insulting him by not eating. He then threatened that if I did not eat he would have me put outside."
Hutton has since filed for divorce — a move Teddy believes was manipulated by his kids — and now Mel is trying to kick her out of her home, which is owned by his charity.
On top of a 100-yard restraining order, she wants a California judge to prevent her step-son from tossing her out of her house AND stop blocking communication with Hutton.
A hearing on what sounds like a complex dispute has been set for next month. We hope Mz. Gibson can avoid any further confrontations with Mel until then.
