This is INCREDIBLE news!
The Archie comics have already shown how up with the times they are by introducing the openly gay character Kevin Keller - and then MARRYING him - and now, they've gone one step further by announcing that the beloved Riverdale teens will be meeting up with some other famous famous in cartoon form…from Glee!
That's right, according to co-chief executive officer Jon Goldwater, a crossover between the smash series and the comic book is set for the end of this year or early 2013, and that staff writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will be penning the story!
"I've become friendly with Roberto — he's just a genius writer. He and I were shooting the breeze. It turns out he's been a fan of Archie for years. His most recent Halloween costume? He was dressed as Archie! [Characters like Kevin Keller] Those have reintroduced a lot of people back to 'Archie,' and it's opened a whole new world of people coming to 'Archie' for the first time, too. 'Glee' is courageous in their story lines and how they represent their characters, how they represent the high school situation."
Obviously, both parties respect the others' work a great deal, and we just know that this means that GREATNESS is coming with this cross-over!
But what kind of greatness, you may wonder?
Unfortunately, the details of the four-part story are currently under wraps, but expect parallel dimensions, dancing, and singing!
Yeah! That's all we need to hear!
SOLD! And SO excited!
How about U? Are U looking forward to the Glee/Archie crossover?
