What The…? Michael Fassbender To Play Time-Traveling Bartender In Video Game Adaptation

Time travel! Assassins! Michael Fassbender!

Fresh off his success as a machiavellian android in Prometheus, Fassbender has signed on to produce and star in Assassin's Creed — a feature film adaptation of a totes popular video game franchise.

He's already played a sex-addicted ad exec and a mutant freak who moves metal with his mind, but this role is even WEIRDER!!

Fassbender is a down-on-his-luck bartender who gets kidnapped and sent back through time to learn the ways of an ancient order of deadly assassins!

Uhhhh, okay?

Everything career move so far has turned out brilliant so there's little reason to doubt this upcoming Ubisoft action pic but we're really not sure about this one!!

What do U think? Is Fassbender in over his head?

Have you seriously never heard of this game? It's won so many awards with a new game coming out soon!

it's about time they make an Assassin's Creed movie. I'm not sure if Fassbender is actually playing the main character or even which of main characters it will be from the games. Personally, I think he'd make a really good Ezio/Desmond. Ubisoft taking creating control is just what the film needs to be successful.

Yeah, I agree completely with the previous commenters. Have you ever played any of the AC games? They kick all conceivable ass! My only beef is that he seems a bit old to play Desmond Miles. He'd make an amazing 30's and middle-aged Ezio, though…

This post is making me cringe. Assassins creed has an amazing story line, with a lot of great historical background. On top of it all the, he's not a time traveler, he is plugged into a machine that allows him to relive the memories of his ancestors … Not Time Travel…

i'm sure you have no idea of anything about the game, p…but as far as i've heard this is all rumor, which is too bad.

This is not wierd at all. This game franchise is bad ass. Its about a man who is kidnapped by the knights templar and is forced to relive memories from hiw ancestors who were assassins in the time of the renassance to recover lost artifacts that point to a bigger plot. The setting is amazing, and if the fighting scenes and stealth take downs are half as good as they r in the game, this is gonna be a kick ass movie with creative control on ubisofts part, so we dont have another prince of Persia movie on our hands
