Everyone's favorite erotic novel/soon-to-be silver screen flick has FINALLY signed on two producers!
The best-selling book has been creating quite a stir amongst housewives and, well…everyone pretty much, including Universal Pictures, who won the bidding war!
The studio, which usually chooses their films' producers, actually let 50 Shades Of Grey author E.L. James handpick them this time around!
Producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti won the rights to the project, beating out a TON of Hollywood industry heavyweights!
E.L. held several meetings
in her Red Room of Pain with producers, to see just which ones tickled her fancy she liked the best, until finally settling on the two guys!
Universal Pictures co-chairman Donna Langley stated:
“At its core, Fifty Shades of Grey is a complex love story, requiring a delicate and sophisticated hand to bring it to the big screen. Mike and Dana’s credits more than exemplify what we need in creative partners and we’re glad to have them as part of our team.”
A “delicate and sophisticated hand”…? LOLz, stop us there! Ha!
The two producers definitely have a ton of AHmazing credits under their belt, with De Luca producing flicks like Moneyball and working with Brunetti on The Social Network, in the past!
Oh man…it’s all coming together! Who would’ve thought a piece of Twilight fanfic would ever get this far?!
