It's sharing time.

For awhile, Travis Barker's life was rougher than anyone imagined!

After a horrible plane crash and DJ A.M.'s overdose, it seemed like only marijuana and prescriptions drugs could ease the pain.

He said in a recent interview:

"I used to love smoking weed. Especially after my accident, I got off my 19 bipolar medicines and all the stuff they said I'd be on for the rest of my life and I would smoke weed at night if I had anxiety."

Doctors told him things needed to change, however.

They found pre-cancerous cells in his esophagus that may have been the result of excessive smoking.

He continued:

"I always thought I'd be able to do that for the rest of my life, but when your health is on the line, you don't f*ck around."

So what did he do? He looked in the mirror and made a change.

He admitted:

"Right then and there I changed my whole life around It's irreversible, which is what sucks. For me it was an awakening… I'm happy to say I'm three months completely sober and I plan on staying that way the rest of my life."

Good for you, TB!

We're always proud when anyone can take such an honest inventory of their life and take the necessary steps to make it better!

I'll believe him when he's sober for 3 years, not 3 months.

Also if he truly is bipolar he will need his meds again at some point.

Bipolar disorder can be difficult to diagnose. It may have been that he was incorrectly prescribed medication for it. Either way, I'm so happy for him. He's got such talent and it would be devastating to me to see it wasted or lost for good.
