Dark Knight Massacre Victim Jessica Redfield Remembered

Jessica Redfield (real name Jessica Ghawi) was an aspiring sportscaster admired by national hockey writer Jesse Spector.
On June 2, she instinctively escaped a Toronto mall shooting. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to escape the Dark Knight Rises shooting that took place in Aurora, Colorado last night.
Hours leading up to the midnight showing, she tweeted with enthusiasm and excitement:
Never thought I'd have to coerce a guy into seeing the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises with me.

Of course we're seeing Dark Knight.Redheaded Texan spitfire, people should never argue with me.Maybe I should get in on those NHL talks…

But during the horrific tragedy, Jessica was shot multiple times and passed away.
Her brother, Jordan Ghawi, blogged:
"I was able to contact the man that was with my sister, mutual friend Brent Lowak, who stated that they were in the theatre when an incendiary device was fired into the crowd and that shots rang out immediately afterwards. Brent further stated that he took two rounds and that my sister took one round followed by an additional round which appeared to strike her in the head. Brent has been transported with non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital. I am on the next flight out of San Antonio to Denver and have already [contacted] Aurora PD, operating jurisdiction, as next of kin."
So sad… Our thoughts are with you, Jordan.
Jessica was also an avid blogger. After the Toronto shooting, she wrote about the importance of life and how we should cherish every second of it:
"I say all the time that every moment we have to live our life is a blessing. So often I have found myself taking it for granted. Every hug from a family member. Every laugh we share with friends. Even the times of solitude are all blessings. Every second of every day is a gift. After Saturday evening, I know I truly understand how blessed I am for each second I am given."
The photo above shows Jessica and her new dog. According to her Twitter, she just got him on July 13th. So unbelievably sad…
We're so so sorry for all of the loved ones in mourning over the loss. Our heart not only pours out to you all, but to every friend and family member of the deceased twelve.

this brings tears to my eyes so very very sad such a beautiful girl
may angels watch over her soul
So sad. She was so successful at such a young age, too. Prayers for her family.
She was a Fox news intern. RIP Jessica
does this remind anyone else of final destination? so sad, r.i.p
Re: Comments off C off – Another Angel in heaven - I well not go see this Movie or ever purchase the Dark knight until the movie gives back to the victims in way of financial support , they made 30 million dollars last night and could even offer anything other than their prayers , this is so wrong , people well suffer for the rest of their lifes over the actions of this madmen , as a person who has lived 26 years suffering from P.T.S.D. over the death of my daughter , maybe some of you well argue that it's not the fault of the Movie and it's release for this nightmare , but , he did not only choose this movie to make his point , but , also claimed to be the " JOKER " …. so they need to give back to the victims ….please everyone …show your support…don't watch this movie …send a message to Hollywood
God bless you Jessica and others not yet named.
How horrifying, so sad. Talk about Final Destination! She missed one shooting, only to later succumb to another.
Just like Final Destination!!
Sincere condolences to anyone who knew thing young woman. She seemed like a lovely person…inside and out.
How ironic that she missed one shooting only to be killed in another so soon afterwards. Her new awareness of the preciousness of life post-Toronto hopefully made the brief time she had left that much more special.
So many of us walk around not "getting it" and take our time here on Earth for granted, or just don't appreciate what we have (as opposed to complaining about what we don't).
May Jessica rest in peace.
LOL SHE SCREAM THE SPOLERS
She left the Eaton Centre before the shooting even started so how the hell is she a survivor? I was at the Eaton Centre that day as well and left before the shooting, but does that make me a survivor? Nope. I feel terrible for her family.
This definitely DOES remind me of the final destination. Erie.
But all in all, very sad. Prayers go out to her family. Rest in piece Jessica.
