The Jim Henson Company Cuts Ties With Chick-Fil-A Over Its Anti-Gay Agenda!

We couldn't be more proud of our beloved Muppets!

Although the Jim Henson Company had partnered with Chick-Fil-A this month to release make-your-own-puppet kits as the toy given with kid's meals, the production studio has announced today that they will no longer be associated with the fast food chain due to its public confirmation that they do not support gay rights…and spend $2 million funding organizations fighting same-sex marriage!

According to a statement on Henson's Facebook page:

"The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD."

Just WONDERFUL!

Kermit the Frog said it best with "It's not easy being green," but the right choice is very rarely the easy one!

It's the people running Chick-Fil-A who are going to look back at this time and be ashamed of themselves for being so ignorant and hateful to the basic civil liberties that EVERYONE in this country is entitled to have!

That is, if the company survives this whole fiasco!

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!

Oh I get it, I am just tired of having it shoved down my throat. No more muppets at my house.

So the lesson is to punish those who think differently? I love how Perez proclaims equal rights for all at the end of these posts. It should really say equal rights for those who supports gay rights.

Didn't they know this before signing with them?
    Fishy…
They just wanted to make a quick but and then make a big fat announcement.
    *sigh*

Chic-Fil-A donated money to Exodus international, which was sending money to Uganda to push the KILL THE GAYS bill!

If the company survives? Chick-fil-a is doing REALLY well here. I think they will survive just fine.

  7. 7

Don't talk about equality u fucking hypocrite when it is obvious that you can't possibly understand that Chick-Fil-A has every right to oppose whatever the fuck they want to. Just like you have the right to be the sorriest piece of shit known to man. You fake lard ass, you preach no bullying yet you bully everyone who does not have the same opinion as yourself. Asswipe, look up the word hypocrisy and see your ugly mugg imprinted there.

Re: Thebigboot – It is not about thinking differently - it is about discrimination. It is about equal rights. Are your rights being threatened by giving equal rights to gays? No.

I think the company has the right to do what they do. I think a lot of us are tired of this gay agenda; enough already; do what you want in private; nobody wants to hear about it in public.

Re: LaDiva – Yeah, and Henson has every right to pull their name from a company that supports something they don't agree with. So stop acting so damn butthurt.

  11. 11

Ahhh…the intolerant Left. Queers are sexual deviants. They've always been sexual deviants and will be so in the future. It's not hate; it's recognizing perversion when it exists.

loving that lisa henson is giving the money they got from chick fil a to glaad. i have been reading more and more about people finally telling chick fil a to fuck off. first the students of northeastern university in boston refusing a chick fil a on their campus, now boston mayor thomas menino. “Chick-fil-A doesn’t belong in Boston,” Menino said. “You can’t have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against a population. We’re an open city, we’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion.”
also singer audra mcdonald and actor ed helms tweeted anti chick fil a comments. nice when people stand up against bigotry.
not surprisingly they have that idiot mike huckabee's support. he's calling for a chick fil a appreciation day on august 1st. LOL!!! just thought i'd mention it so some of you usual perez trolls can join in and feed your faces with that yummy junk food. the faster your arteries clog the better for all of us.

Equal rights for all, Perez? I guess on Planet Hilton, "all" excludes Protestants, Catholics, Evangelicals, Republicans, conservatives, heterosexuals, capitalists, etc., etc.

  14. 14

Chick-fil-A is owned by Christians who know that homosexuality is an abomination and they have the right to believe and and donate money to whomever they want just like those who believe that its okay to be gay have the right believe and support whomever they want (even though their wrong!)

  15. 15

Re: AttFinch – Clogged arteries is still better than clogged butt holes. It's well known Jim Henson used to sodomize Bert and Ernie.

  16. 16

Re: rosebud99 – So every time someone supports a group the they feel discriminates against one group or the other, people have the right to run them out of town? Should we lynch those who were for prop 8?

Mike Huckabee stands up for Chick-Fil-A's stance against gay marriage. Do you support Chick-Fil-A's choice? Vote at Nationwidevotes.com

When did muppets, beloved for so many years, and meant for little CHILDREN become associated with sex or sexual orientation!?!?!?!

They donate $2 million to fund an anti-gay campaign! That means when we order food, we're sending our hard earned money to the campaign. I think there should be a complete week or 2 where people strike against Chick-Fil-A. They would loose tons of money.

  20. 20

I 100% respect CFL's right to support and fund whatever cause they want. That's their business and their prerogative. However, I'd be a total hypocrite if I didn't also support the right of consumers and other companies alike refusing to do business with them. That's the way free market should function. Don't agree with CFA? Don't purchase from them. It really is very simple. Let's be real, their food sucks anyway.

  21. 21

Re: Mr. Strat – LOL the hypocritical troll bit, eh? Try harder.

  22. 22

Trust me, Chick-Fil-A will do just fine! GOod for them to stand up for what is right. More companies need to stand up to this gay agenda. I will always support them and any other company that stands up against the gay propaganda that is being shoved down our throats!

  23. 23

Re: Jumperchu – Good for them. I say kill the gays too. Going to have Chick-Fil-A for dinner tonight! And tip them big time!

Anyone notice how ironic Mario's posts are? He's gotta be the greatest bigot of them all. He only supports the first amendment when you're agreeing with him. If you have any dissenting views, you're "trampling on his rights."

  25. 25

Re: LaDiva – What a STUPID bitch you are. This is a GAY columnist. If you don't want that perspective then just go finger yourself in the corner. And maybe read a civics book so you UNDERSTAND freedom of speech. Probably on of the 4000 claiming to be 1 million moms.

  26. 26

Re: DaffodilMcallister – They are free to say what they want. And we are free to tell them to go pound sand and buy our food elsewhere. And we are. GO MUPPETS

  27. 27

Re: Oh Resist Her – yea asshole so does every fucking person who doesn't support gay marriage. anyone with a difference of a opinion against gay marriage is called a homophobe. go find another word assholes…

  28. 28

Re: FrankieLA – lol interesting how you threw that lil speech about freedom of speech. b/c i'm sure it applies to not only gay folks u fucktard… so after i go finger myself in a corner, you can then smell my finger you dumb bitch.

"Basic human rights"…… last I checked everyone in this country can own land, vote, get a job, go to any school they want, eat, drink…. are those not basic human rights? I think we are getting a tad dramatic with the 2nd class citizens claims. I would think its a slap in the face to those who HAVE been treated like second class citizens in this country. The stance that CF is taking is not hateful but once again different then Perez so therefore "wrong" LOL tolerance at it's best. He even makes liberals look bad with his hypocrisy.
Why are the Muppets, characters to entertain kids, even worried about this. Kids should be able to have a childhood and not worry about gay or straight. My kids don't worry about marriage and sex thank goodness. Why are the muppets even involved in a "stance" either way.

Chick-fil-A definitely made the hard, right decision to stick up for what they believe in instead of jumping on the gay bandwagon. They'll be getting even more money from me than they already had been!

ARGH!! The Jim Henson company doesn't own the Muppets, Disney has since 2004. And they also have nothing to do with Sesame Street anymore either. Can't people do a quick fact check? I'm so sick of this.
