Madonna Ignores Scotland's Request To Remove Guns From Her MDNA Tour

Madonna ak 47

Madonna change something in her show cause it's too controversial? Not so fast! There's a reason they call her the Queen…

In light of the the Colorado Dark Knight shooting, law enforcement officials in Scotland have asked her Madgesty to remove the guns from her MDNA tour. Madge seemingly ignored the request, as during Saturday's concert, she toted pistols and danced with an AK47 assault rifle, just like every other night of the tour.

Perhaps a touch insensitive … but then again, Madonna has never been one to play by anyone's rules or conventions but her own.

Naturally, this did not please officials. Amnesty International Scotland director Shabnum Mustapha says:

“I think common sense should have been applied this weekend. Given the recent events in Denver and the fact that she was in Scotland – where the Dunblane massacre occurred – better judgement should have been used.”

Is it common sense to let the actions of a horrible deranged man across the world affect her tour??

The actions of shooter in Colorado has impacted the lives of so many people in such a horrible way.

It seems Madonna was not willing to let that sorry excuse for a human to have an affect on her and her show.

Whether or not we agree, continuing to us the guns is a strong statement. We can respect that.

Those weapons are illegal in the UK anyway, if she brought them into the UK she would receive a prison sentence.

She has no respect for anyone it's disgusting.

She needs to put those gross old jugs away. Most breasts are ugly anyway. Her's are really sloppy and nasty. JMHO

"Is it common sense to let the actions of a horrible deranged man across the world affect her tour??"

Considering they cancelled the premier of the Dark Night in Paris (a half a world away) yes it common sense to alter her tour ro be more sensitive, but Madonna doesn't give a shit about anyone but herself. She is the most self-centered person on the planet. I think they should have just pulled the plug on her concert.

  5. 5

It is more than just insensitive. Even if the Colorado shooting had not occurred, Madonna's use of guns in her show comes off as desperate. It is like she is trying to be controversial just for the sake of being controversial as opposed to real controversy that stems from art. If she has to resort to cheap tricks to get attention, maybe it is time to retire.

  6. 6

Wow, Mario. When you decide to lick someone's ass, you really get your tongue in there as far as it will go. You're a disgusting piece of shit.

  7. 7

I don't get you sometimes, I really don't. You are completely down for a movie being re-cut and pushed back because of the horrible massacre that occurred on Friday…But Madonna parading around and dancing with high powered guns, AFTER she was nicely asked to cease and desist by the government of the country who is hosting her as a sign of respect, and sensitivity to those who were slayed, and her ignoring that. . .That is "Perhaps a touch insensitive"?!?

  8. F Phillips in Scotland says – reply to this

Ok, we Scottish people recognise there is some kind of bizarre thing in the US called a "Right to Bear Arms". We don't particularly understand it, but thats something that is up to Americans to decide.

Here in Scotland, we felt so strongly after the Dunblane massacre and not being able to find any good reason for people to actually have handguns - Banned them and put much tougher controls on all gun laws.

Thats how we feel about guns. Madonna if not giving a damn for the people of Colorado, should have respected the feelings of the country she was visiting.

However, as it has become clear over the course of this tour, Madonna is doing absolutely anything to keep herself in the spotlight.

Perhaps she'll return to cinemas in a movie called "Desperately Seeking Attention".

Thoughts and prayers to the people of Colorado.

  9. Josh says – reply to this

She doesn't want to compromise her "artistic integrity," because, you know, she's SO artsy.

  10. LindaNJ says – reply to this

Maybe you should actually look up the Dunblane massacre you idiot. Madonna is a washed up old lady that will do anything for attention.

  11. fid says – reply to this

You are so transparent and hypocritical it is unbelievable! I'm sure you'd be freaking out and calling someone a hatefilled monster if they were to do something "controlversial: against the LGBT community. Madonna is an old hag that should realize her walker and denture days are coming and just give it a rest. She is not controversial or innovative anymore, she's just trying TOO hard to stay relevant. Her next tour she'll do her routine in blackface and you'll say "oh freedom of expression, she's just so wonderful and unique". Maybe sticking to your guns and calling her out for what she is, a spoiled grandma who has no consideration for the world outside her own withered face.

  12. 12

She should add that statue of Joe Paterno to her stage too.

  13. 13

Madonna is trying to keep her name in the public eye. People need to stop buying tickets to her shows and her music period. Tired of her…

  14. 14

I fail to understand why a singer needs guns in her show.

  15. TeeNa says – reply to this

Who cares if it makes a statement…she should show respect in a country she is visiting nonetheless…if they don't want guns in a show due to a massacre that occurred she should do what they say. I can't stand people who do what they please and have no respect for anyone. Even if she didn't care how using guns might look after the Colorado tragedy..she shouldn't have the guns the day AFTER it all happened, or at all. I just lost respect for HER.

  16. Weegie1234 says – reply to this

Given the fact that 16 children and 1 adult were shot to death in the school of a country that guns have always been illegal in, I would say its a valid request by the Scottish government. If she is going to fake a British accent than she should pay attention to their requests! She is so irritating.

  17. imlayla says – reply to this

I couldn't agree more with the people on this site. She's a self-centered piece of sh*t.

  18. 18

  19. 19

I think she is an amazing entertainer and using guns in her show is completely unnecesary.

  20. 20

    Madonna is a attention whore.
How about insulting the holy prophet Muhammad on stage the next time ?…she doesn't have the balls…afraid to be killed.

  21. 21

Re: Hayley – you really don't think they are real do you?

    Re: MissEvonne – good one.

  23. justin says – reply to this

Madonna is amazing. i would fuck her, and then let her shoot me. the guns go with the song… which is about shooting your lover in the head, so it wouldnt have made sense if she threw cottonballs.

  24. Bracgirl says – reply to this

She tries so desperately to be cool and stay relevant. I bet if it were kids that were in that theater that night she would put the guns down.

  25. ll says – reply to this

oh please. she cant-its aprt of the show. and M fans wont be influenced by guns. please. theres a lot of terror on tv that influences ppl…. not madonna show. its art

  26. jill says – reply to this

you are very confusing sometimes. how can you be okay with madonna parading around with guns after that horrible shootings in denver?? she was asked nicely to not put guns in her show, and shes being completely pathetic. 12 people have died, and your okay with her having guns in her show? absolutely disappointing

  27. 27

With all the money and fame Madonna has acquired over the years, the least she could have done was show a little respect. She was politely asked not to do something, and for good reason. It wouldn't hurt her any to forgo the guns for one night.

  28. 28

Ok what happened was completely tragic. But why are we focusing on a freaking Madonna concert? You all are a bunch of hypocrites. Are you not going to see Batman because there's guns in it? Or watch tv shows with guns? Horrific events have nothing to do with Madonna and a show that's been going on for months now. I'll never understand people vilifying her for no reason other than Madge being a strong, powerful woman. Get over yourselves and off your high horses…it's a fucking dance pop concert.

  29. JP1988IsAnIdiot says – reply to this

    Re: jp1988
They vilify her because she sucks!

  30. yeast says – reply to this

wow really madonna! Completely selfish. Is she not AMERICAN! Could she not sacrifice one show. Just one freaking show and put all egos aside. This is a time where we should put all out shit aside and mourn and pray for all the victims. Not even one show Madonna!

  31. yeasty says – reply to this

Geez Perez. You are a straight up ass kisser.

  32. Linda NJ says – reply to this

Re: jp1988 – Typical American way of thinking - I believe the Scottish government felt so strongly about not having guns in the show because of the massacre that took place in Scotland.

  34. WAHHHHHHHH! says – reply to this

you're an asshole perez….if it was somebody you didnt like you wouldnt "respect that" you'd crucify them…….just for once, can you stop being such a hypocritical fuck?

  35. 35

It's only a show after all ! Why no forbid every movie or tv series with guns ?
it's ridiculous. It's a tragedy and we have to think about the victims and their families only.

  36. 36

And remember her show right after 9/11. There was a gun too and she let it on the floor that night. She was wearing the american flag.

  37. JamesAndTheColdGun says – reply to this

Yawn! Kate Bush did the gun-wielding/shooting up/violence thing on stage 33 years ago.

  38. SusieQ says – reply to this

It's sad that Madonna feels she has to resort to such immature antics to TRY and entertain people. Brandishing guns, even if they are fake, portrays a disturbing message of violence that just isn't appropriate. Obviously, she has no talent any longer and she needs to retire.

  39. Adam says – reply to this

Perez get your fucking head out of Madonna's ass.

  40. Saint Thomas says – reply to this

what an unsensitive bitch!!! she should learn better, also we should not have any movies showing guns, what about those videogames? violence everywhere!!! anyways we should all call it on Madonna instead…. DUMB

  41. 41

As someone who lives in Colorado, I don't give two flying vaginal shits about whether or not Madonna waves guns during her concert. And fuck the assholes who tried to "warn her" against doing this in her concert. It's not like she's doing it in Colorado, in Aurora. She's halfway across the motherfucking world.

    For fuck's sake people.

  42. Rob says – reply to this

Not sure what Madonna has to do with this crazy bullshit……just enjoy her show assholes…..

  43. 43

the guns are a prop in a song about someone who has killed her lover; a lover who was also on their way to trying to kill her.
It's an artistic statement about being both enraged and self-protectionary against someone who you are in love with.
But it's also human nature to be pissed off and want to shoot and kill the bad guy, which is why we love action movies.

there's probably a lot of people who would love to shoot madonna or anyone else they think are stupid, so they should relate to someone having a show about killing someone that they hate too.

not everyone acts violently, but it's very natural to want to be violent sometimes, and because of that it's actually more healthy to talk about it or express that anger through art including music or shows. if more people expressed their anger in more positive ways you'd not have as many annoying haters - or crazy people out their hurting innocent people.

  44. Alix Kat says – reply to this

"Is it common sense to let the actions of a horrible deranged man across the world affect her tour??"

but it should be common sense not to be an insensitive bitch.

  45. Jaded says – reply to this

Re: JungianQueen – I think the request was because of the massacre in Scotland, that the government of Scotland asked her not to wave guns around at her concert in Scotland, as the people of Scotland are still very much hurt by what happened. The massacre in Colorado was a secondary concern in the request, and probably used to further influence her, but unfortunately Madonna doesn't care about anyone else's feelings because she thinks the world should bow at her feet. She's only gotten worse as she's gotten older because no one cares anymore.

  46. Guru says – reply to this

    Re: fuck the haters
    "It's an artistic statement"
Shit! Madonna is about as artistic as a kindergarten fingerpainting class.

  47. Anna says – reply to this

What Madonna has to realise is that unlike Nicki Minaj, she made songs in the 80s, which means she is an older woman. She has to get over the fact that she is no longer the most outrageous or controversial celebrity. She has absolutely no respect for her fans and I'm honestly beginning to wonder if she has any for herself.

  48. Anna says – reply to this

and Perez, can I just ask: would you have respected it if it was any other female artist? Probably not…

  49. Oh dear says – reply to this

She should have respected the govenments request. Dunblane was horrible. For those that dont know 16 primary school aged children and the school teacher (the oldest child was six) was shot by some nutjob armed with 4 handguns…she should have shown some respect for the people of scotland and for their govenment

  50. Robi says – reply to this

  51. Iwantarealmom says – reply to this

Why would Madonna show respect for victims of crime when she doesn't even show respect for her own teenage daughter? Poor Lola. I feel for her because my mother is as self absorbed as hers - walks around like she's some young hot thing, flirting with guys half her age, wearing provocative clothing, constant sexy jokes, flashing her old lady parts. It's so humiliating for my sister and I. When we beg her to tone it down and explain how uncomfortable it makes our friends feel, she accuses us of wanting her to act old. No, not old…how about just a little classier, a little less desperate to hang on to her 20s, a little more considerate of how hurtful it is for us to hear people laugh behind her back. I love my mother but I'm so sick of her acting like a desperate cougar and us having to make excuses for her. Lola, I feel for you girl. (Demi's daughters too.)

  52. 52

Just stupid people would condemn Madonna for using fake guns in HER concert, where people pay to see her and are intelligent enough to understand the metaphor. Horrible things have always happened in this world and they were not caused by her.
If you are so willing to judge her, then why don't you judge the American people who paid $160 mill. to see the movie that "unleash" this tragedy?

  53. 53

SMH at the posters here who on other stories are totally anti gun control in their own country, yet are perfectly comfortable calling out Madonna for using fake guns in her show.

  54. sm87 says – reply to this

this has absolutely nothing to do with gun violence or anything - how dumb is everyone? She has guns in her show as part of an acting/performance segment for her song - anyone DUMB enough to take this literally and go out and shoot someone in the head clearly have their own issues. As for the Colorado massacre, as disturbing and sad as it is, this is VERY different. They cancelled the Dark Knight premier because the massacre happened at a Dark Knight movie… not everything involving guns should be halted. Had she changed that part of her show, people would complain that she changed her show - so why would she do that? People just love to complain about Madonna. Seriously get over it you over sensitive losers, and don't irrelevantly bring up that unfortunate Colorado incident because they share the same topic of guns - it's ridiculous and uneducated.

  55. redjewel says – reply to this

Madonna is past relevance , and she is trying way to hard to be. She needs to check her expire date.

  56. 56

    Re: F Phillips in Scotland
    Well said !
    Re: Iwantarealmom
Hey, thanks for sharing what you did. It puts another perspective on things, for those who are out there thinking that Madonna is the shit, using her tits and ass and drug references to get attention like the desperate and insecure woman she is.
("Strong and Powerful" ? Nope, sorry folks… what Madonna is currently demonstrating is a deep insecurity. One which needs to be projected out onto her fans and fed back at her constantly. This woman isn't strong at all. She's weak in morals, her code of ethics is questionable, and her disrespect for her fellow countrymen and women is simply a cheap ploy to gain attention. She probably has an intense fear of death. [Hence the guns.])

Anyway, I can't help but wonder what would happen if Lola began stripping in a club? Or hanging out with "molly" freaks? Or hanging out with group of guys who expect her to flash her body and wave guns around? Madonna supposedly did not let her daughter watch TV while growing up, in order to keep her "uncorrupted." (Correct me if I'm wrong on this.)
So, what fucking message is she sending by behaving the way she does?

"Lourdes! Turn off the TV and stop watching The Simpsons immediately! They will corrupt you! You must come dress up like a whore and watch me disrespect entire countries at a time instead!"

"where people pay to see her and are intelligent enough to understand the metaphor."
For some reason, I can't picture intelligent people at a Madonna concert. I just don't see it.

  58. 58

    Re: JV
    Lol, JV.

  59. 59

Are you American sluts for real? Really? You obsess over violence and drama ridden reality tv but then want Madonna to change her fine tuned show? You hate her….this is the 140,000 chance you get to express that in 30 years….NEXT PLEASE… because she and her fans aren't listening to you jealous bullshit.

  60. 60

Why she should turn down her show all the way across the world when they keep playing the movie anyway??? You guys r disgusting and lame bitches who have nothing to do but bad mouthing her all the time u people needs to get a F life she's who she is and she doesn't give a fuck cause people get killed every day in Iraq but the world is silent about that??… Oh please what a two face bitches!!!

  61. 61

LOLOLOLOL…I love people's angry comments on here. i think some Madonna fanatics are missing the point: Ppl here are pissed at her because she's not respecting SCOTTISH laws, cuz that's the REAL reason for this story so Idk why Perez had to get ridiculous by mentioning Colorado (most likely to do just that: get the Madonna fans and everyone else riled up). I DO agree with almost everyone here, she's getting too old and too gross and pathetic.

  62. Alan says – reply to this

    Re: Keckielee
It's not the American sluts who are upset about it; it's the Scottish sluts who asked her to tone down her show. The Americans have not said anything about her; they stopped giving a shit about her years ago.

  63. 63

ive always wanted to go to scotland my ancestors some of them come from there and i always feel a bit scottish being im tight with my money .lol. well thats what my grandmother said before her death.. ..
ive always found the scottish men hot and would gladly go there and maybe ' find the scot in me '

madonna didnt want to change her show u cant do a show with a gun if u have no gun would mess up the show.. take a lot of rearranging i imagine ..seems shes annoying each country one at a time …

its her tour , i feel bad for the colorado people , but what are we supposed to do stop everything , its a show from one of the best entertainers ther is , people need o relax , there is also this thing the show was on wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before the shooting, im sure madonna was not happy about the shooting , its music , art , visuals , relax

  67. 67

OK EVERYBODY JUST SHUT DA FUCK UP!!! why should she be the only one being harrassed? are u telling me that they should also stop showings of movies with violent contents on them? get a life!!! is just a freaking show nothing more…they are still showing all around the world 'the dark knight' and all u Hypocrites are going and spending money on it…ya'll make me sick…stop bullying and go do something better with your lives…bunch of losers!!!!

  68. 68

Madonna does really stupid things for attention. I don't agree with editing films because they aren't doing things for shock value, but when a musician isn't a least a little sensitive to things that have happened and are going on in the world it is something different. It is arrogance. I can't stand Madonna and how she thinks she is above people. Some compare Gaga to her and say Gaga ripped her off, but at least Gaga has compassion and isn't self righteous. Madonna needs to have some humility. She is that special.

Re: F Phillips in Scotland – The way Scotland reacted to that tragedy was the way I wish the US would to its many shootings. I agree, she should definitely have respected that your country isn't keen on guns.
