Has Emma Watson Been Cast As Anastasia Steele In 50 Shades Of Grey?!

I like Emma - I hope this is a false rumor and she doesn't do this film. She is better than this silly porn story.

There sure is a lot invested into this. And I don't know why people think it's going to be someone well known, because I highly doubt that. If 50 Shades wants to follow the status quo of all book to film adaptation series before it, they're going to get lesser known actors. Emma Watson can come in asking for $10 million, while a Lucy Hale or Analeigh Tipton will gladly take a $2 million paycheck because they know that this role will make them big stars. Besides, just like Twilight, Harry Potter, and Hunger Games, the people of 50 Shades want to create the next big stars, they don't want stars going in. There is lots of buzz about this. I have yet to read the book, but at this point, why should I? It's everywhere!

hypable.com reported that they contacted Emma's rep and said there was no truth to it, and when you think about it it makes a lot of sense. Emma has spent many years crafting a respectable, classy, and sophisticated reputation and would destroy it all to be in a smut film. I mean, she's not Lindsey Lohan who has no reputation to destroy.

Yeah right. She is probably one of the classiest stars around, there's no way she would do this. Obvious fake rumor is obvious.

MMMMM I don't know. For me it's more important the chemistry with the actor playing Christian. Kristen and Rob no offense to twihards are mediocre actors but together they are great. I think it could be a mistake to cast Emma. I still hate that of all the girls who auditon to play Katniss in hunger games all of them had played similar roles in other movies or they had big upcoming projects like Hanna or X Men or oscar noms. Jen is fantastic but I still think other actresses would've been better.
I'd love an unknown with only one previous tv appearance or movie like Kaya Scodelario or Ashley Rickards playing Anna. They don't seem afraid of nudity and sex scenes and are great actresses. Or maybe someone without an agent and no previous experiencie Like myself!;) I'm not afraid of nudity either .

I 100% agree witk karriebelle its obvious there not going to take well known actors for this.. But you can gaurantee that the actors that do play the roles of Ana and Mr Grey will be perfect for it and become huge stars just like rpats and kstew were after twilight… Its all about the chemistry ! And I agree kaya would be good for this role!

I'm as big an Emma Watson fan as anybody. I'll be there the first day that "Perks" opens in September. But it does seem hard to believe that with all the young actresses CLAWING AND SCRAPING to be Ana in "50 Shades," that Emma would be so quickly at the front of the pack, especially when the movie is so early in the development stages. Obviously, we'll see.

She's not exactly who I picture playing Ana. Honestly I kind of picture someone like Anne Hathaway…except with bigger boobs. When I first started reading the book (on Sunday! I'm on page 203 of the first book!!) I pictured Channing Tatum just cause he was fresh in my mind from Magic Mike. However, sad to say, I don't think he could pull off Christians character. And sorry but Channings acting ability isn't all that good. Unless he's taking off his clothes or dancing, his performance is kind of blah.

I hadn't really thought about her being cast as this, but her innate ability to come across wide-eyed and innocent would definitely be believable if she were to get the part. As for Christian Grey … for some reason Alex Pettyfer comes to mind. He has that sexy appeal with an ability to look 'innocent' if you will. I think they'd be perfect for those roles.

They don't need to make it smutty … I don't think they'll be able to portray the book exactly as written, but they can make it somewhat tasteful.

Phew that is a relief sorry but Emma Watson looks too young for the role. I think Alexis Bledel or Ashley Greene can fit into Ana role

I think she's pretty and all that and she did really good in the Harry Potter siries, don't get me wrong. . . but I don't want her to be Ana. It will just ruin it. And my dreams will be crushed!
