Considering the dreadful circumstances, we think that Warner Bros. is handling the Colorado shooting, that took place during a Dark Knight Rises screening, exceptionally well.
The studio would have been otherwise ecstatic about the film's phenomenal box office performance, but decided not to announce any figures until after the initial shock of last Friday's tragedy.
On top of that small courtesy, the company is donating a "substantial" amount of money to charities supporting the victims and their families. CEO Barry Meyer has reportedly reached out to every employee to inform them of the donation, as well as providing instructions for how they can personally donate to those affected by the violence.
Very respectable move! And the studio isn't alone either. Various theaters screening the movie, like the ArcLight in Hollywood, have been collecting donations from customers to send to charities as well.
