James Gandolfini Dead At 51
This is horrible!!!
Legendary actor James Gandolfini is dead at 51.
He reportedly succumbed to a heart attack while in Italy.
The Sopranos star was apparently attending the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily when this unspeakably sad tragedy occurred.
Our hearts go out to his wife Deborah Lin, their daughter, and his son Michael.
Rest in peace, big guy -- you were one of our favorites!!!

That's because all of her albums that have been hits people already have and with the internet/itunes - people probably have her "greatest hit" tracks already. People need to stop putting out Greatest Hits albums unless it's Itunes exclusives on the web because msst people won't spend the extra money. I can't remember the last time I actually bough an actual CD - nothing but digital these days.
10 k to 12 k sales is bad for most artists.
While she was older back in the day, her movie star status and diddy sold her albums. It's over. Shoulda taken a pay cut on idol to stay and get a few more bucks before entering the celeb old age home when she hits 45.

I don't understand why artists release these greatest hits album - nobody buys them? You can make a playlist yourself with the songs it's so stupid. Of course it's not doing well, they never do. Except Madonna's, which obviously will always just do well.

I have most of those songs already … the couple that I don't have , I don't care either. Nice idea but since these days people can buy a single song on line … greatest hits packages are not a must now !
its only a greatest hits album. no big deal. and IMO she didnt pick the right songs for it. its great she put 2 new ones on, but most of the songs are recent songs, not her true hits.
IMO greatest hit albums are useless.
There aren't even any NEW songs on there, besides Going in, if you count that as new, so it's no surprise that it isn't doing well. She should've had "Play" on it, and not so many remixes, should've left some originals on there too because it's pretty much catering to a urban crowd. After her tour, she's DONE.
Her last couple of movies have not done so well, if you don't count Ice age, but that's a Kids movie so obviously it was going to do well. However, other than that, her movie "The Backup Plan" and "What to expect when you're expecting" did NOT do well as expected (no pun intended). And her recent album, didn't produce many hits, only On the Floor. I'm into you and Dance again aren't hits.
A lot of people don't understand the reasoning behind releasing retrospective compilations. They probably did sell much better, comparatively speaking, back in the days before digital music sales because those who didn't want to buy artists' albums could find all the recognizable songs from the radio in one place. However, these compilations do still serve a purpose in today's increasingly-digital music world: they serve artists' more committed portions of their fan bases. "Completionists" are already going to buy any new releases by their artists, but there are some extra perks to buying greatest hits packages. Now that new songs are recorded and/or previously-unreleased/B-side tracks are being tacked-on to promote greatest hits albums, there is extra incentive for fans to spend $10-$20 on a release they might otherwise ignore. Furthermore, these albums usually feature remastered or "touched-up" audio. While this may only appease audiophiles in regard to music released within the past 20 years or so, owning remasters of songs from even earlier should be a plus for just about anybody. The improvement in sound will also be much more apparent in a vinyl or CD format than in most digital download format if the listener is using higher-end speakers/headphones.

Jlo hole career has collapsed after she was fired from Idol, she knew that when she was crying on the Ryan Seacrest radio show on July 13, 2012, she know she got no future, no major music or movie contracts in the working, Idol was the only job keeping her alive.
Well that's because everybody has the songs already on the internet and itunes. People need to stop putting out geatest hits albums out, it doesn't do them any good. The fans are tired of listening to the same old songs, put all new material and it will sell pretty good. She should've stayed with "American Idol" and taken the $20 mil and you would.ve been happy with money coming in, but no you wanted to leave and that's where your career is going to go right back down the tubes. I'm sorry to say this but you're career is over now. Now you can focus your time on your 2 kids and your 25 yr. old boy the eldest of them, and you need to figure out what you're going to do to pick up your music career or whatever! Good Luck!
