Matt Bomer Is NOT Starring In 50 Shades Of Grey
We wish it were true, but unfortunately the (above) Entertainment Weekly cover is a FAKE, which means Matt Bomer is NOT starring in the film version of 50 Shades of Grey. It's all just a sad rumor started by such a deceiving headline!!
So again, we repeat Team Bomer: This EW cover is a LIE!!!
As you can see, the faux magazine cover claims:
"Fifty Shades of Grey: The wait is over. Matt Bomer talks about changing the white collar for a grey tie."
And, it's complete bullshizzle!
Matt is not leaving his TV show, White Collar, and he has not scored the coveted role of Christian Grey.
50 Shades producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti have said "no one has been cast in any role." Because they want to tie down "a writer and director first."
So fans of the books can rest easy.
There is still time for the producers to cast your top pic (Alexander Skarsgard) for the big part!

But because he made it my business to know that he likes boys, I can no longer see him as a leading man in heterosexual roles. He is not and will never be a good enough actor to make me forget that he likes to give it to other guys, and I need to be able to forget that to believe the onscreen relationship. They are going to need a seriously good writer and director because those books are so poorly written. Sorry but they are CRAP. That said, his WC "love scenes" are uncomfortable (he always has that "I REALLY love you… as a FRIEND" look) and THIS ONE TIME, the part MUST go to a confirmed heterosexual (no closet cases). Love him but this one part is for the women who love a hot, STRAIGHT guy. A gay grey? No way!

Re: lori – When I started the first book I thought 'What IS this crap…' It was work to endure but, after Ana and Christian's second meeting, I was all in. The problem is the editing. Someone should have made James rewrite the hideous opening because the books become downright brilliant as they progress. That's what's weird about them. You can see her writing skills progress as you read.
In the end, 50 Shades is really quite the delirious love story. When I went back to re-read all three it was quite obvious the difference in the writing from start to end. And the emails are the best thing in the books. I'd suggest you make the effort to get past the cringe-worthy opening (I'm amazed anyone could) and stick with it. If you're not completely immersed by the middle of book one, maybe it's just not for you - for any number of reasons. But the writing definitely improves, which I would never have found out if my library reserve had arrived before I could progress past the opening. I'm glad it didn't.

The only thing good about Bomer (for this role) is he can, at least, act. I say that because some of the suggestions for the part were hideously bad teen dream type "actors." I like Bomer a lot personally (not THAT way…) but the repeated description of Christian Grey are utterly at odds with Bomer's age, look and demeanor. And I really can't handle a gay grey, anyway. Sorry.

Alexander Skarsgard is way too old and ugly to play Christian grey. I only read a bit of the first book but there is no way he should be cast. I don't get people thinking he is hot, i think he's gross. I can see Matt Bomer or Ian summerhalder in the role though.

I don't understand how Alexander could be anyone's top choice for Christian Grey. He doesn't fit the part AT ALL. Casting him as Christian would disappoint many many fans of the book. I would love to see Henry Cavill as Christian, but if not ANYONE but Alexander please.

Alexander looks way too old and not attractive enough for the part. Can we please remember this man is supposed to be 26 years old and ridiculously beautiful? I'm not sure why this writer thinks everyone wants Alexander. If you look at the polls, he is not leading them. Matt Bomer and Ian S are the top runners in the polls. It is not surprising to me that million of woman have picked Bomer as Christian Grey. He is absolutely stunning to lack at, has the most intoxicating blue/grey eyes & all the characteristics of Christian. As I read the books, only one person came to mind: Alexander Skarsgard. Watch him one day if you haven't. I'm glad, he's not Christian Grey as far as I'm concerned. It means Jensen Ackles is still a possibility, and he's the only choice for this role!
