American Idol Begged Toby Keith To Take The Open Judge's Chair!
You can't always get what you want.
But if you try sometime, you just might find, you get what you need nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Details are emerging that Fox and American Idol made a play to land controversial country legend Toby Keith earlier this month.
Someone has to take Steven Tyler's spot and with so many past Idol winners hailing from the south and taking the stage with some country swagger — we're looking at you Scotty McCreery — it's a small wonder the execs haven't thought to go this route before!
Unfortunately for them, Keith declined!
After recently hosting the CMT Awards we know this cowboy ain't afraid of a little spotlight, but apparently the Idol schedule is too demanding.
It wouldn't leave him enough free time to tour.
It's kind of a shame. His politics might be awkward for a significant portion of the audience but he is one heck of an entertainer!
