"When I first met with Paul Levitz of DC Comics prior to Batman Begins, he explained to me clearly that Batman, of all superheroes, has thrived on reinterpretation and almost is strengthened by it. I'm talking about over the years in the comic books but also in the movies. So when the time is right, whenever someone does whatever the next iteration of the character is, they simply need to be true."
"I'm very intrigued to see another interpretation of it at this point … It would be very interesting to see what someone else does with the character. I'd be the first one in there to watch."

Even though the final minutes of the film revealed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was, in fact, on his way to become Robin, Bale never approved. Pointing out that it was not his decision, he joked:
"Regardless of what my wishes would have been, it was not my choice and never was."
Well, we loved the ending anyway and are kind of hoping they'll continue with Gordon-Levitt's character, but who knows what Warner Bros. will decide to do in
10 4 years!
