Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan ready to watch another batman reboot

Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale aren't coming back for another Batman movie to follow The Dark Knight Rises, but they are throwing their full support behind another version!

The director of the epic trilogy even gave out some free advice to whoever decides to helm the reboot and explained:

"When I first met with Paul Levitz of DC Comics prior to Batman Begins, he explained to me clearly that Batman, of all superheroes, has thrived on reinterpretation and almost is strengthened by it. I'm talking about over the years in the comic books but also in the movies. So when the time is right, whenever someone does whatever the next iteration of the character is, they simply need to be true."

Bale is probably the most enthusiastic of all about another interpretation of the character he broke box office records with. While chatting it up with MTV, Bruce Wayne himself said:

"I'm very intrigued to see another interpretation of it at this point … It would be very interesting to see what someone else does with the character. I'd be the first one in there to watch."

It sounds like he doesn't want to watch the series to continue where it left off though.

(SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! STOP READING NOW IF YOU HAVEN"T SEEN THE MOVIE YET)

Even though the final minutes of the film revealed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was, in fact, on his way to become Robin, Bale never approved. Pointing out that it was not his decision, he joked:

"Regardless of what my wishes would have been, it was not my choice and never was."

Well, we loved the ending anyway and are kind of hoping they'll continue with Gordon-Levitt's character, but who knows what Warner Bros. will decide to do in 10 4 years!

You're really not good at this, are you?

    SPOILER:

JGL's character does not become Robin at the end of the film. He becomes the next Batman. The fact that his real name is actually Robin is merely a treat for the audience. Not entirely sure how much more clear they could have been about that without putting him in the suit itself.

Is there any chance anyone can re-boot Batman after this superb trilogy?

Re: key – SPOILER: You said it for me. I never took it as JGL was to become "Robin: just that the city clerk said his first name was Robin and that it was nice and he should use it more. My thought was he was to become Batman since one thing Bruce\Batman said to him mid film was that "anyone can be Batman" and that that was the ideal. So with Bruce and Selena happily off to parts unknown, he passed the torch to Det. Robin Parks.

Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio have had a not-so-secret rivalry for film roles starting with Bale being up for Titanic. Hear Cross Creek Pictures dumped indecisive Leo for Christian as the Western anti-hero in 'Creed of Violence' - the novel by Indie Author Boston Teran. Read the book, can't wait for the film - it will be a Western as if Peckinpaugh and Fellini collaborated.
