David Letterman Defends Chevy Chase In Weird Joel McHale Interview
Late Show got a little intense last night!
Last night, David Letterman's interview with Joel McHale turned into a lecture on why Joel needs to stop picking on Community co-star Chevy Chase.
Letterman was clearly trying to put McHale in his place, which made the situation pretty awkward.
A call from Chevy We don't know what could have inspired the shake down.
McHale has spoken out about Chase and Community creator Dan Harmon's massive feud, but he himself never seemed to have any issues with his elder.
Noooow it appears there was some McHale/Chase dramaz going on behind the scenes that the public didn't know about!

Um, Perez, did you actually watch this? It was adorable. It doesn't sound like there's any drama with Chevy and Joel, and all Dave did was say how great Chevy is. It sounds like Joel and Chevy have a hilarious relationship. I didn't think the interview was awkward or hostile at all. I'm glad I watched the video and didn't just trust what you wrote! Be careful about creating gossip from nothing!

McHale was born in Rome, so *he* probably speaks Italian, and he was talking about his *kids* not understanding why no one spoke English since it was the first time they'd travelled overseas.

There is exactly no one who has ever worked with Chase who has anything nice to say about him. He is a colossal jerk by all accounts, who has burned so many bridges in Hollywood he should have been thrilled to have any work at all.

I kept watching this waiting for the hostility but… ??? it never came! The only part I would call remotely tense is when Dave said Joel was stereotyping Italians.
