that clip is a butchered mess and doesnt do it justice. in the context of the night it worked brilliantly and has gotten rave reviews worldwide.
The thing is, when you are first watching the opening ceremony seeing one of the finest orchestras in the world perform is one thing, it is almost expected to have them there or the Royal Orchestra but you don't really expect to see Mr Bean pop up in the middle of it. He is famous all over the world simply because he is silly, and silent so he cuts across so many of our own cultural differences. He is absolutely massive in Asia as well as in England and one of our best loved comedians. If acting was a hierarchy he would be royalty.

I thought it was as indulgent and over-produced as the Brits can be … I mean the entire ceremony including this Rowan mishap. If the Brits had anything to be proud of in recent times, it would have been Adele. Hopefully she turned it down once Boyle shared his Oscar-winning vision of her appearing in a nurse outfit dancing on a bed.
I'm rooting for the people who support Chick-fil-A. As for Atkinson, he wasn't funny. At all. But funny is a subjective thing, so one opinion doesn't rule. The one important thing of the day is marking your calendars to eat at CFA this Wednesday, and more often in general terms.
By far the best part of the evening by a mile. Yes we all look forward to the tradional opening ceremony but of all the olympics I have been priviliged to watch, only we could bring on one of the world's great talents, MR BEAN. What a joy to hear 80,00+ people laughing at his antics.
