Sir, do NOT toy with our emotions.
Loyal readers know that despite poor ratings and the sometimes convoluted storyline, we were HOOKED to the CW's Sarah Michelle Gellar thriller Ringer last fall.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out in our favor and Ringer was canceled with only one season. We won't lie, there were tears shed, but if we're to understand CW President Mark Pedowitz correctly from what he said at his network's TCA panel today, we may not have seen the last of our beloved SMG.
He offered some real hope for all the Sarah Michelle fans out there, after noting that the show didn't do well on any of the the prime platforms (ratings, social media and digital), he added:
"That said, the fans are still writing me, they want it [back] desperately… Sarah Michelle and I have had many discussions… and the one thing we did come away with is when she is ready she would love to come back to The CW. We would love to have her … either as an actress or as a producer."
Dare we to dream that Ringer could find its way back to the screen? We honestly thought it had a chance after Secret Circle got the boot. There was a lot of $$$ funneled into that show, and with it gone, we thought maybe SMG's baby could get a little more attention.
But even if it doesn't come back as a series (or TV movie! We'd be cool with that!), we're happy to hear that Sarah Michelle isn't opposed to coming back to television all together.
Get back on that horse, girl! Let's see what else you got!
