Check Out Emeli Sandé's Gorgeous Rendition Of Abide With Me That NBC DIDN'T Want You To Hear!
While the rest of the world may have been treated to Emeli Sandé performing the hymn Abide With Me with a troupe of dancers at the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony, all in tribute to the 52 people who died in the London bus and train bombing attacks on July 7, 2005, NBC callously decided to opt out of airing that segment, and instead ran a Ryan Seacrest interview with Michael Phelps!
And although it's shameful that US audiences weren't given the opportunity to see what many have regarded as the best part of the entire ceremony, the UK songstress has released a stunning studio version of the song, backed by only a piano and performed in one take!
Give it a watch (above)!
Her voice literally sends CHILLS down our spine!
It's BEYOND gorgeous!
We bet many Americans are going to realize now just how much they missed out on by having this cut!
Such an unbelievable disappointment!

What a beautiful voice and a beautiful woman also! So shitty of NBC not to air this segment. Does anyone know the reason, other than stupidity?
so glad they didn't cut away from it in the UK, got a lump in my throat watching it in the opening ceremony and watching that video did the same to me again!
Another shameless plug just because she buys ad space on your site. The phony sell-out strikes again. I see Scientology still has you in their back pocket too.
There is a version on iTunes in 'Isles of Wonder' album of the opening ceremony - even better without the piano! Or just watch the segment on BBC iPlayer - what an amazing piece of TV history - will bring tears to your eyes!
Can you imagine how insulted us Brits felt to find out the US cut out our tribute to 7/7 and fallen war heroes - we were pretty disgusted to find out how little our opinions are valued!
Very nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really loved browsing your weblog posts. In any case I'll be subscribing in your rss feed and I hope you write again very soon!
