Madonna Delivers Inspirational Olympia Speech!

Preach it, O holy Madgeness!

There was SUCH a kerfuffle over Madonna's live-streamed, 45 minute Olympia show last week - which reports claimed angered fans to the point of causing a mini-riot - that Her Royal Madgeness decided to address the contentious issue on stage so that her REAL fans could understand she would NEVER forsake them with a sh*tty, short show!

Madonna expresses during a riveting speech:

"Wherever I go, whatever kind of show I do, being it a stadium, a sports arena or a little tiny nightclub in Paris, I always do it with my complete heart and soul 300%. I do it for my fans, because they deserve it, and so does everybody on the stage, ok?"

Hear ye, hear ye!!!

Get informed and inspired by the veteran popsicle (above)!

Will we ever let the hateful actions of a few ruin the funtimes for many? As Madonna says during her statement…

F*** NO!!

Such an amazing and inspirational woman. I hope she never stops entertaining us!

So people who are of the belief that they were gypped by virtue of it being a very short performance are haters because this old bag put her heart and soul into it 300%.
Newsflash you old kunt, you're supposed to put your heart & soul into it for nearly 2 hrs. or people feel swindled at those confiscatory prices.

  5. 5

I love how she riles everyone. Her latest controversy is in Warsaw. There's a major protest because of an important holiday on the day of her concert. She's so intelligent. Throughout her entire career, she used controversy and pushed people's buttons to get her to where she is. For those who "hate" her and make it known online, she loves it and gets her name out there more and more. You're doing what she wants.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA !!!
Funniest (and most delusional) speech EVER !!!!
    Mama,don't preach, pleeeeeease.
First of all, the "little tiny nightclub" you've mentioned in that comical introductory speech is, in fact, a 2000 seats venue called the Olympia. Thanks to you, Springsteen, McCartney, Sting, Elton John, Bob Dylan (among many, many others) will be utterly surprised to learn that they have been, in recent years, performing in a small nightclub in Paris. But, hey, you know what ? These singers, true stars, have not cheated, angered and duped their fans like you just did last week. And, by the way, when you (or your management) claim that the chaos/pandemonium witnessed at the outcome of the Olympia showcase was not caused by your fans, you're in for an intensely severe reality check. Who else, but your once true fans, would pay the sum of 70 to 270 dollars to see you in a venue ? Not some "thugs" as Team Madonna have implied. Not some "plotting" evil doers or, God forbid, some Gaga "little monsters" as it was also claimed by your entourage. No, your delusional Madgesty, like it or not, those were just your fans.

  11. 11

Oh ok Madonna. She is as much a hater as anyone else. How much has she trashed Lady gaga in the press. Pa-lease, Miss Holier-Than-Thou.

  12. 12

At this point, Perez's lips are so firmly glued to Madonna's ass that if she were to boil puppies and then boast about it while parading naked through a church, he'd say "This is why she's the Queen!" Honestly, Madonna has a much hate in her heart as the people she judges, she just knows how to spin it in her favor (note: Wallace and Edward were Nazi sympathizers, and Wallace was a full-blown racist, but that's OK for Madge b/c they're all "romantics". Hmmm)

Some news that won't enjoy Madonna or LiveNation : it has just been announced that more than a hundred fans that were present at Madonna's concert at the Olympia have bandes together and are threatening to sue the promoters unless those same promoters reimburse them for the equivalent of the tickets prize.
Still, I'm sure this latest info won't change anything in Madonna's crappy attitude : she will still see plots, thugs, extreme-right haters and GaGa-fed little monsters everywhere.

This Madonna-gate is getting pretty hilarious each aditional minute.
How un-thugly of them, how dare they ?

    15

The woman has been making great music for over 40 YEARS! Hit after hit! Tell that to anyone who says she is no good, no talent, etc. Remind them how she has managed to stay on top while other artists commit suicide, drug themselves to death, or worse. AND still look fantastic doing it! THAT is what a REAL STAR accomplishes!

  16. 16

Calling the Olympia tiny makes me laugh so hard , the Olympia is 1 of the most legendary stages in the world , but Madonna's cheer squad will tell you it's not , and any1 who disagrees is a hater in their opinion.
    Still a 45 minutes playback show a 240 euro is a big rip-off.
Any artist who shows such disrespect to their fans should be ignored period.

  17. 17

Perez didn't pick up the part where she says that when you see problems, don't point the finger elsewhere: point it at yourself. Madonna, I admit it was my fault for trusting you, for not demanding the show length and content before buying the ticket as I had faith in the words your marketing team used to promote it, for having believed in your integrity as an artist to not blatantly rip off fans on this scale. The overpriced merchandise, the top priced tickets, the massive premium on early entry to standing venues that you can stampede across to get a little closer… Those things aren't personal, they are business and I'd pay it all again.

This was a personal. You personally told us that the show was a thank you. It was in the event an F you, an insult to we fans who support you through the good times and bad. It was a great show, you were on fire, we were in heaven, then it became clear that rather than a tour stop we had paid for a pit stop and all hell broke lose. Four more songs and this nightmare would have been a dream come true.

Do the decent thing, say sorry, give refunds. We are a forgiving purple we Madonna fans, and you can be proud that you have always encouraged us to never accept second best.

Re: Not a fan anymore – I guess its all relative. The Olympia might seem big to bruce, bob, sting and paul because that is a big crowd for them. But coming from someone who continually has the biggest grossing tour of all time it probably does seem small.

I would have easily paid 240 euros to see Madonna up close for 45 mins. I just can't believe that this was not premeditated. If your a hardcore fan that is willing to camp out overnight then I can believe you would be upset by being that close to her. But hey just my opinion.

    22

Re: DB – Obviously mean't can't in above comment. What I really don't understand is this. If I don't like someone then I don't go and read about them. For example, I don't like Mariah Carey and so I don't go and read about her. The fact that so many of you are coming on here and commenting about Madonna suggests that you are in fact obsessed with her even if it's negative. But that is a true star isn't it! Someone who you love or hate but can't stop thinking about?

Secondly, Lady Gaga released a press statement saying that she doesn't want to fight or tear people down in regards to Madonna. She has also said that Madonna was her biggest influence. So all you gaga fans (and I love her too) that are ripping into Madonna need to be aware you are going against what Gaga is all about! Be the ibgger person otherwise your just doing what you hate Madonna for. Ps - Madonna has a dry sense of humour and I imagine she was joking when she said gaga comments. She appeared on saturday night live with Gaga after all.

  23. 23

i guess it's yet again another lesson from my idol, that you can always simply speak up and give your version of things. so many people hate her, they say it's because she' old or because she's not at the tip top of the charts, but i'm pretty sure it's because they are threatened by someone who won't be silenced… and is showing other people how to not be silenced either. Haters hate that.

Re: DB – The choice of buying a 45 minute show is not equivalent to buying something advertised as a tour date, a concert, a show with several hits that turns into a speech, 2 interludes and maybe 30 mins of her actually performing as the dancers also carry much of the end of open your heart. I was a few cm from her at Birmingham and Hyde Park, saw her in Edinburgh and those tickets cost less than folk in the balcony paid at Olympia. I see many other artists from Scissor Sisters to Tori Amos through the year and would not acceot this sort of screw up from any of them. It is unprofessional.

Springsteen nor Sting play to small crowds. Springsteen has played to crowds of up to 160,000 people in one setting.

Re: Phoenix – Well maybe Bruce etc also consider it to be a small venue. Just because they played their doesn't mean they wouldn't see it as a small venue. The fact is Madonna is used to doing big shows and so a place that only holds 2000 people is small for her. People can go on about it been an important venue, but it IS a small venue for someone like her.

    29

Re: Daniel – IN all due respect, and I'm sorry you feel you were ripped off, the price of the ticket was set and you chose to buy it. YOu even admitted to having a good time but it ended too short. I really don't think you could expect much more, and as she stated, previous shows like this in the past were only 45 mins long too. I really don't think it was false advertising. I'm sorry that you do. I really doubt she was trying to rip anyone off here because she could make more money by doing a large stadium type show so I doubt profiting was her motive. The fact is you got to be up close with her and I think that was why it costs more. I would pay that happily. I think you are not looking at this objectively. Tori Amos and Scissor Sisters, I doubt, would pull in bigger numbers than 2000 per show and so for them that is a full concert. The fact you have seen her so many times must mean you really like her - don't let one bad experience ruin it for you. I'm going to see her in Toronto, and am going to be sitting way back in the stadium because it sold out so fast. The chance for me to be up close like you were just boggles my mind, and it just seems so ungrateful from her fans to be complaining about that experience IMO.

The message I was trying to get across was that Madonna does do big shows and so that would not be a big one for her. But it seems to me that your more interested in 'winning' an argument, rather than actually having some good dialogue on the subject at hand. Good day.

Re: DB – The way I look at it, it's like the meal I had last night where the chicken had been sitting on the hot plate for too long and turned into leather. You can scrape what you want from it, or demand it be replaced. It was advertised as an MDNA tour date, it was priced as an MDNA tour date, it was stated there would be several classics. These things did not matter when she walked off after 45 mins leaving a crowd of angry people saying "WTF".

Given that the mini-shows had been free in the past (and I was at Koko, HMV, and, ironically, the Hard Candy show at Olympia before!), while G-A-Y was a bargain £20, there is no reason on this earth to assume that going from free to full price is a hint that the show is going from a tour date to a promo show. It's simply illogical. It wasn't even clear it was going to be broadcast on youtube till the last minute, so there's no link between that and the show length either. The fact that Liz R. stated that it was always planned as a promo stop is irrelevant too - if people aren't informed what they are buying is not an MDNA tour show (what was advertised to fans) but a promo show, what difference does that make?

No one would have expected 1hr50mins of MDNA complete with drummers on the ceiling and blocks rising from the stage. What we got wasn't an adequate approximation of that either.

"Then you come out with a statement saying you don't want to talk about Madonna yet you came on to a Madonna post and commented about it suggesting you do, in fact, want to talk about Madonna. "
Really? And where are you finding these suggestions? I have barely mentioned her to you. I fail to se how, "in fact," I do want to talk about her. Browsing through articles about a subject doesn't indicate a profound interest in the subject matter, but perhaps you could enlighten me with your new found theory that someone posting not about Madonna in a Madonna forum makes me really want to talk about her. So not only do you not know the meaning of "hypocritical," but you can't properly construct nor defend a sentence using "might." The last thing I need to be doing on here is taking English lessons from you. Your writing itself is a high school English teacher's nightmare. Conversation still over for you, are you going to continue feeding into my "trolling" and try to get the last word. You are special, my dear, but not in the way you think.

  53. 53

Everyone keep arguing - but a few fact corrections. The show was actually 54 minutes in length. It was webcast in France, but you can see it on youtube. The material from her new tour was scaled-down, production-wise. There is some disagreement over one fact: some say there was some material performed just for Olympia, that she does not perform on the tour. That is not confirmed. She sang live for the entire performance. (Personal commentary: her live singing, particularly on Open Your Heart, was awful, but it wasn't playback.) The show was advertised as a special one-of-a-kind show for fans in a 2,000 seat room and ticket price wasn't as high as her top tickets for the current tour, as some have said. She opened with Turn Up the Radio, the third single from MDNA, which has not performed well at U.S. radio.

I mean I think community college diploma's are ok…for someone like you. I wouldn't expect you to be able to do more. While you take the high and might road (all of a sudden) I am not the one who (and I find this very amusing) said I was about to run into a semi-truck as if that was supposed to be some kind of a threat. lol. Re: Phoenix – Hey you're the one replying to me oh so quickly so once again we have a hypocritical comment from you. Hahaha. Someone managed to go onto a dictionary and look up 'faux' and 'cloying', the fact you are now trying to use big words to impress me shows that I have won this argument. The fact you have to try to use inane comments like 'go jump off a bridge' (really original by the way), also shows you have to revert to insults because you know your argument is lost. Oh by the way before you comment on my English I would go and read your last post it is full of mistakes. Your doing a really good job of making yourself look as stupid as your comments are, and so as I said I will leave it for now, as anyone just needs to read your hypocritical comments for living proof that you are as stupid as I say. Bye dear.

  57. DB says – reply to this

    57

Re: Phoemix – Ok so you say you don't need English lessons from me, and yet this 'someone posting not about Madonna' kind of suggests you do. But despite what you claim, up until your previous posts, I hadn't actually insulted your English I had told you you have reading comprehension problems. There is a big difference. Reading comprehension problems suggests you have an inability to grasp simple concepts and meanings from messages conveyed by others in written form. Bad English is making mistakes in grammar, spelling and sentence structure. But we are on a Perez forum so I completely accept bad English, but what I do expect is for people to be able to understand the meanings behind sentences. For example look for the difference here. The cat ate his food, vs The cat might eat his food. Can you see the difference? See how might changes the meaning of the sentence? Probably not. Anyway, the fact that you can't tell that I was insulting your reading comprehension and not English, shows that you do, in fact, have reading comprehension problems and are as stupid as I thought. Now I really am going after this and I will not be doing you the courtesy of reading anymore of your replies. So type what you want baby because all it will be doing is proving me right that your a vindictive child. I win. Toodles.
