Marvel Developing A TV Show Set In The Avengers Universe

| Filed under: TV NewsRobert Downey Jr.Comic BooksChris Hemsworth

Yes!!!

But since a television budget can't possibly live up to the standards set by the blockbuster movie, don't expect any of the actual Avengers to be major characters.

No!!!

Still, what we're hearing sounds pretty cool. Marvel is in talks with ABC to produce a live-action drama series set in the same universe as The Avengers. Instead of focusing on the heroes though, the series may instead end up being something entirely different — like a high-concept cop show.

It's all speculation for now, but the comic book company has several properties that could easily apply. For example, Code:Blue is a specially designated SWAT team within the Avengers universe that takes on super-powered criminals and even helped defend Thor's home planet at one point.

If this show becomes a reality, we're crossing our fingers for a Robert Downey Jr. or Chris Hemsworth cameo.

We know their names are too big for TV right now, but they should do it for the fans! And the easy paycheck. Ha!

Thats a good idea, more shows better than more movies. My older daughter has been saying this since a year. its not far as Marvel has many stories and it cant be limited for a movie each 2 or 3 years.

Marvel owns the TV rights to spiderman. Since he's in the avengers comic books, hopefully spiderman will show up from time to time.
