Charles Bradley doesn't just sing the blues. He's lived them!
The soul singer has lead a very difficult life, including his own near-death experience and the murder of his brother. He worked a series of odd jobs, including being a James Brown impersonator. It was while doing his best Godfather that he got discovered. And so began his music career - well into his 50s!
Inspiring stuff!
Bradley's song Heartaches & Pain is dripping with authenticity and nuance. This is some real shit! Powerful! Beautiful!
