Wooooaaaah maaaannn!! This news is warping our BRAINZ MAAAANNN!!
While we already kinda sorta knew Ed Sheeran would be collaborating with some LEGENDARY band on one of their classic hits for the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony, we assumed he would be wailing out with The Who, or perhaps slamming it to the left as Ginger Spice #2…
Our FAVE British brand of musical hot sauce recently expressed:
"I'm playing the closing ceremony - which I think is kinda cool right? A lot of people think that I'm doing a song with The Who but I'm not - I'm doing a song with Pink Floyd. I'm doing 'Wish You Were Here'.”
Sweet sweet super sweet.
We DO need some education… some rock music OLYMPIC-style education taught by masters Ed Sheeran and the dudes from Pink Floyd!
Now we're gonna go watch The Wizard of Oz while playing Dark Side of the Moon.
See ya in some other dimension!
Pink Floyd have released a statment claiming they are NOT performing at the Olympics closing ceremony!
The band states:
"In response to press speculation, Pink Floyd state that the band is NOT performing at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games."
Oh no! Was our darling Ed Sheeran misinformed? Or perhaps he will only be playing with ONE band member who will not be representing Pink Floyd?
