Mariah Carey Brings A Little More Joy With Triumphant Vintage Throwback Remix!

| Filed under: Music MinuteMariah Carey

Okay, so maybe Mariah Carey’s latest single, Triumphant (Get ‘Em) disappointed us a little bit — but it’s only because we know she can do MUCH better!

Well, little lambs, it seems MC wanted to treat us to a little dance mix, just like the good ol’ days!

Take a listen (above) to the new vintage throwback remix of Triumphant!

Much, MUCH better! The original version sounded like Mariah was just featured on the track — and not as if the song was actually hers!

Mariah tweeted that she wanted to “relive the splendor” of when she used to rewrite and resing all of her club remixes!

While we like the new mix, we hope her upcoming fourteenth album promises much more than this first single!

The song is terrible and while the remix cleans it up and makes it much more radio friendly, overall, this is simply disappointing. Mariah needs to not surround herself with so many "yes" people and take on people that will tell her when a song like "Triumphant" is crap.

Its interesting how she changes the structure of her songs to fit the format of sub-genres … that rap-remix—-meh, it was just ok…

The Vintage Remix is ALL THAT! Her vocals on the track makes me enjoy the anticipation of what's to come on the album…now I can't wait for it.

IMHO, the verses on the Vintage remix should have been added as the opener on the original track which would have made my Mariah world perfect! Nonetheless, it's her vocals that I crave and the Vintage remix did just that - satisfied my yearning for new Mariah vocals and music.

Those rappers, Ross included, should praise the fucking lord that Mariah featured them on her lead single. Now the whole entire world will be exposed to them without which their "popularity" would have still be contained within US urban radio. That may seem like a big thing but compared to the vast wide world, it is infantile.

I got my new Mariah vocal fix and is all happy, happy, happy. LOLz

    ♥♥♥ THE VOICE ♥♥♥

Sorry, but the remix is just as irrelevant as the original version….

Poor Ms Carey - not only has she recycled some of her old trashy rap lite music, this time she tells you through her cover to focus on her body, i.e., her come get em, triumphant knockers, than her music. how fitting for this narcissistic singer !

She does need to release a dance song, just not a dance song circa 1996

The thing I particular appreciate from the remixes is that they do not auto-tune and twist Mariah's voice and vocals beyond all recognition like every single dance song out right now. It would be a travesty if this was the case with a Mariah track.
Instead the DJs knew what they were doing … and what the fans wanted (much more so than whoever thought this rap version would "touch Mariah's fan base", that person knows shit about Mariah's fan base, etc.), new and clear Mariah vocals. They made it so that the "dance" is secondary to THE VOICE.
Check the radio and all the "artists" are auto-tuned to the point that leaves one with the sense that anyone could have been on the track instead of the actual artist, even if they had a decent natural voice.
