    Good Grief! Put the child down and let her walk for herself. Suri is six years old now and I don't think I've seen photos of her walking on her own more than 5 times.

    I can understand them carrying her if she is intimidated by the paparazzi, but at point will they put her down? An earlier item said that Katie didn't want Suri to be a princess, yet she continues to carry her. I wonder if Suri would throw a temper tantrum if she didn't get picked up whenever she demands?

    Katie, for the love of God put that friggin child down. You are stunting her social abilities. She is way to old to be carried around like a doll. I have never seen two parents work so hard on giving their kid social problems.

    Funny how she considers herself an "independent woman" after probably walking away with a 30+ million dollar paycheck.

    Re: NookiesWA – Sorry Nookies, I think you can only take the paparazzi excuse for carrying her so far. Both Tom and Katie seem to seek out these photo ops, and I think one of the reasons they carry her is so that they can get in the picture too.

    Why does she trot her out *every single day* ? T.C. at least whisked her out of NYC to a secluded place in the Hamptons. Seriously, I worry about the mental health of this woman more than her ex.

    It's pretty interesting how y'all are making a diagnosis of Katie's - or for that matter, Tom's - parenting skills off of a few pictures.
    Damn, that's pretty impressive.
    Since when did y'all become expert body language experts?
    Some of you have had great comments - yep, kids DO get tired, and yep, they DO get SCARED, and yep, the paps obviously are trying to get pictures of them TOGETHER - but let's be realistic here:
    Until YOU have walked down the streets of NYC with a 6 year old kid, hounded by Scientology freaks who are willing to do whatever it takes to get that kid back into their grasp…
    Until YOU have been hounded by hundreds of fans - OR HATERS, OR PEDOPHILE FREAKS, OR KIDNAPPERS FOR LARGE SUMS…

    Lay off the judgment already. I mean, holy fuck.
    If I were walking down a street with my 6 year old child - who's a pretty hot commodity these days - I'd be carrying her too. Because she's my flesh and blood and I'd prefer she didn't get snatched or hurt, for crying out loud.

    Re: Brainiac – Sorry. Not buying it - made sense when she was younger, but now Suri is carried for one of two reasons. 1. to avoid a public meltdown. 2. so the parents get in the photo too.

    She might have problems in school. I read Katie is or wants to enroll her in a private Catholic school and kids will be mean and make fun of anyone different, famous parents or not. If they see her mom pick her up at school and carry her she will probably be in for a world of teasing.
