Jack Osbourne MS Discrimination? NBC Responds!

| Filed under: TV NewsJack OsbourneSharon OsbourneBusiness BlitzHealth

Hmm, what a giant lameballz mess!

Yesterday, reports surfaced that Sharon Osbourne was quitting NBC talent competition America's Got Talent, claiming NBC had discrimintated against son Jack Osbourne. According to Sharon, the network 'fired' him from a new realilty show Stars Earn Stripes after the network learned of Jack's recently-diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis disorder.

But NBC is saying no, no, NO discrimination! The media peacock claims nothing was ever finalized and that they were only in talks with Jack about a major role on the show. NBC also alleges they offered Jack two other substantial parts on Stars Earn Stripes, which he apprently turned down.

NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt recently expressed:

"We hold medical information in strict confidence and therefore cannot comment specifically about Jack, but as a company that cares deeply about the health and safety of everyone on our shows — especially one like STARS EARN STRIPES that requires dangerous water stunts, strenuous physical activity, and uses live ammunition — we required all potential participants to undergo medical vetting to ensure that they could safely participate. Although we did not ask Jack to participate in the competition, we were able to offer him two substantial alternative roles on the show, both of which he declined. This network does not discriminate on any basis."

Ok NBC, we're sure Jack's daunting diagnosis had NOTHING to do with your decision… but if it DID, perhaps you should have let Jack decide whether he was up for the task, rather than preemptively deny him a job out of concern for his health?

Ah well, hopefully this will prompt Jack (and Sharon!) to find a network they feel supports them 100%!

We adore you Ozzies! Stay sassy, stay strong!

Do you even know ANYTHING about MS? You are not supposed to be fatigued….it can lead to exacerbation and thus speeding up any decline he has in functioning. NBC knows more about MS than the person diagnosed with it apparently which is the real tragedy here.

As a person with MS, and shared the same symptoms as Jack Osbourne, I think NBC did the right thing. Had he been in remission for awhile and had his disease under control then maybe he'd have a reason to complain about it, but MS is so unpredictable that NBC had every right to do what they did in my opinion. I don't think it's discrimination at all.

If NBC did pull the plug then they are smart for that one. SHaron doesn't seem very trustworthy and something about her doesn't sit right. If anything would have happened to him on they show that effected his MS Sharon would be the first one saying lawsuit to NBC. Feel better Jack

The Osbourne crows need to shut the fuck up and go away for good. Nobody owes Jack a fucking gig. They offered him two, and he turned them down; if they didn't think he was appropriate for the "role" he wanted, then that's HIS problem. There is no evidence that they were going to make him an offer for what he wanted … Jack Osbourne, like his snot of a sister, is a celebrat with an entitlement mentality. Just because his father is famous doesn't mean he's owed fame and fortune too. The Osbournes are obnoxious shitheads.

They are billing this as special forces training. They won't even let everyone who makes it into the regular military go through special forces training. Only the most elite among the military qualify. Now I am sure it is watered down for the stars but to argue that somebody with uncertain health, somebody who has indicated concern about their eyesight should go in where there is live ammo and put his and OTHER lives on the line. He might be willing to risk his life but the reality is that it also risks the lives of everybody around him. Selfish though it might be, they might not be keen on that.

MS is a complicated disease, it should probably have more names than MS since it has a range of symptoms. I honestly have no respect for Sharon Osborn! I think she was a terrible mother, she exposed her children to drug use, and two of her three children became drug addicts. She's an irresponsible parent, and over compensates with her public "mama bear' protection of her children.

You go Sharon! NBC sucks. They are trying to sweep this all under the rug like they did to Ann Curry. Matt Lauer is such an ass, so glad that Today is tanking while Good Morning America is winning. NBC is a bunch of liars, and good for Sharon for taking a stance, even though it will hurt her. And shame on all of you for not supporting a mama protecting her kids.

As a person with a chronic illness myself, I feel for Jack. I'm sure if he say's he could do it, he could, I have no doubts about that! Mind over matter! What it boils down to is insurance, plain and simple. Even if he passed a physical with ms, it would be incredibly expensive for the show, especially a physically demanding one, to insure him. And if he did get hurt or hurt someone else on the show, his ms could come into question, as awful as that sounds. :(

I believe Sharon. With all the bad decisions being made at NBC lately-NBC (and allegedly Matt Lauer) booting Ann Curry from the Today Show anchor chair, 3 deceptively edited tapes being aired, one of them being a 911 call tape from the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman case, the NBCOlympics.com live streaming being a complete choppy failure, and the head honchos releasing one unbelievable statement after another in a failed attempt at damage control, Sharon telling on NBC is going to hurt NBC even more. Even the National MS Society is going after NBC on this one.

Jack Osbourne will have a hard time from the Judicial System on this MS Discrimination case the best way is to take it to the Media.
