Robert Pattinson Snags Another Indie Movie Role In Queen Of The Night

| Filed under: Film FlickersNaomi WattsTwilightRobert Pattinson

Cosmopolis has definitely helped launch Robert Pattinson's foray into big boy movie roles!

The recently single hottie has best been known for his role as Edward in the Twilight franchise up until this point, but we have a feeling that is all about to change.

R-Patz has been cast in Werner Herzog's upcoming indie film Queen Of The Night, in which he'll play T.E. Lawrence — the British Army officer who is the subject of the 1962 classic Lawrence of Arabia.

He'll be acting alongside Naomi Watts, who is playing English writer Gertrude Bell.

The film will follow her adventures as a writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political attaché for the British Empire.

Before that, we'll see Pattinson continue to distance himself from the hoards of adoring Twi-hards as he begins production on the Australian Outback drama The Rover and military drama Mission: Blacklist.

At least his younger fans still get to watch Breaking Dawn - Part 2 before they lose him to art house cinema for good!

You must be jacking off to Robert Pattison, he's ok. Ricky Martin or Josh Dallas is better though. I keep trying avatars but they keep getting denied! I just uploaded a man kissing another man and even THAT got rejected on this site! What gives Perez? Do I need to make my avatar a photo of you? I'll find a handsome picture if need be, just let me know!

I thought Angelina Jolie had something to do with the Gertrude Bell story? Either way, I can't wait to see it - she was a remarkable woman.

And aren't you going to say anything about a straight guy playing a gay T.E. Lawrence? I thought you would be all over that.

Good for Rob…I know he will enjoy playing English finally instead of American all the time. Good Luck Rob.

always knew he'd go on to a critically acclaimed film career in smaller films. While Taylor will be in trashy action films and flop badly. Robs doing the Leo dicaprio route and will win an oscar one day.

There are certain films that YOU DON"T TOUCH~ And "Lawrence of Arabia" Is one.
Lawrence of Arabia is a masterpiece and you don't mess with perfection.
If they want to redo this classic~ then you hire the BEST writer, director, set director,
cinmaphotographer, coustume designer who's expert in doing "period costumes"
And if you ask me ALEXANDER SKARSGARD WOULD BE A BETTER T.E.LAWRENCE
he's got the height and build of Peter O'Toole and would be perfect in the role.
Robert Pattinson's too young for the role~ and he's got the wrong colouring.
T.E.Lawrence was blond and thin like O'Toole.

What I left out of my post is that David Lean, the genius who did Lawrence of Arabia
Is TURNING OVER IN HIS GRAVE!!!! at the thought of Robert Pattinson portraying
    TE Lawrence.

I like RPatz - I think he's a good looking, decent human being (the way he's handled the KStw debacle is admirable) and I wish him well. That said, non of these movies appeals to me. As was written by PH, perhaps he is seeking to distance himself from heart-throb teen/young roles & flex his acting chops? Either way, these roles aren't my particular cup of tea but I wish him the best in a fulfilling career/life.
