The voice Season Three Changes Format

Now that The Voice will be competing with The X Factor for its new fall third season, producers are scrambling to keep the viewers glued to NBC!

It seems that there will be some pretty big changes for The Voice…including WAY more intense battle rounds!

Executive producer Mark Burnett revealed:

"This year there’s much more at stake. When (the coaches) have their battles and select one person to stay with them and one person to leave, the other coach can buzz in and steal that person that the coach has sent home… it’s called 'the steal.'"

Interesting! Color us intrigued…!

Burnett went on to explain that each of the four judges can steal TWO contestants each, equaling out to ten artists per team.

The show will then be implementing a NEW round called "the knockouts," where the ten will then be narrowed down to five before the live shows start!

The Voice returns on September 10 at 8pm on NBC and will air Mondays and Tuesdays.

The X Factor will take over Wednesdays and Thursdays, with a two-night premiere on September 12 and 13 at 8pm on Fox!

Who will win in ratings??? Britney vs. Christina 2012!

God! Can we just drop the Xtina vs Britney thing? It just heats up the hate between fans and adds nothing to either show. I love Xtina, and I like Britney, the shows themselves couldn't be more different, and for sure they add that special something, but it's not that if you watch one you CANT watch the other. If this is the direction you want to go, it's just ridiculous.

Re: lala – I don't think so. The Voice got nominations for Emmy, while X Factor didn't. LOL We'll see.

Re: lisbellas – as a matter of fact ur comment is actually dumb…season 1 of the xfactor did premiered and ended … and the Emmys dont take the judges into consideration they just mind about the format of the show and the production …

I am so over this show. I don't care what they change, I am not watching it (and don't watch X-Factor anyway) after that hot mess of a season last season. And obviously they don't know what they're really doing and are winging it as they go as this change sounds like a mess too! They sent the wrong people home almost every episode, it was a torture to watch.
