There's so much back-and-forth in this controversial case.
In fact, some think the cops might be flat-out lying

She may not be out of the woods yet with all of this, but it certainly looks like she's nearing the finish line!
We reported awhile back that Britney Spears would be meeting with the judge handling her conservatorship to discuss when it would end and how she was handling her new judging role on X Factor. Yesterday, the pop sensation did just that at an El Lay court house!
And although she ultimately will remain under her conservatorship for the remainder of the year, the main reason seems to be so she won't have to testify in the upcoming lawsuit from Osama Lufti against her parents!
"Britney met Judge Reva Goetz in her chambers for about 45 minutes and included her court appointed attorney, Sam Ingham. The judge wanted to see Britney in person to ask her how she was doing with her new job. Britney said that she is enjoying it and is looking forward to the live shows. She admitted that being on the road for the auditions wasn't her cup of tea because of the long hours, but it wasn't anything to be concerned about. The judge is the one who signed off on Britney becoming a part of the show and it was her duty to ensure that Britney is doing ok."
"The conservatorship won't be ending this year. Britney's doctors and father just don't think she is ready quite yet. It very well could end at the beginning of next year. It definitely won't end until Sam Lutfi's defamation lawsuit against the Spears family has been resolved. Britney's lawyers have argued that since she is under the conservatorship she can't testify or be deposed in the Lutfi case and the judge has agreed."
Good! She shouldn't have to deal with ANYMORE of that man's nonsense!
All in all, it sounds like the pair had a lovely little sit-down, and although we're sure Britney is ready for her freedom, the current arrangement doesn't seem to be infringing too much on her life at this point!
Just keep focusing on your job this fall, gurl. We're sure by the time that's wrapped, you and the lawyers will be able to touch base and see if the conservatorship is ready to be DUNZO!
