Pussy Riot Releases New Song About Vladimir Putin The Same Day They Get Sentenced!

Even though they gave the punk band a two-year prison sentence, the Russian government can't stop, won't stop Pussy Riot!

The girls released a brand new song called Putin Lights Up the Fire the SAME day they received the incredibly harsh prison sentence!

How's that for an "eff you" to the establishment they are continuing to challenge even while they're behind bars?

Obviously, the song's in Russian, so you most likely won't understand a word of it, but we understand the anger that radiates from their vocals.

I think it says a lot about the White House, that they come out and make comments
about Russia , and it's justice system
A day after Eric Holder and his DOJ let Jon Corzine off the hook for stealing over one billion $$$$ from hard working Americans
Of course Jon Corzine did give, and gave very generously(with a billion dollars of someone elses money not hard to do )to Obama's campaign

well, if going to church and singing heavy shit (where people try to pray and have peace of mind) is a freedom of speech… they deserve that sentence dumb bitches

Re: velvet – You idiots who are all giving these girls shit for doing this know that in Russia, the church and government hold each other's hands while walking through corruption together, right? Most of those priest drive mercedes!!! The government and church are together in a bath of filth. That's why it was done in the church, they were mocking this "religious institution" because it worships money and power instead now… all at the expense of the poor Russian civilians.

A man in Russia who raped a 16 year old girl only got 1 year in prison because of who he knows. A priest hit someone in his car and he doesn't get anything. AND THESE GIRLS GET 2 YEARS??!!!

Amazing in that this sentence indicates how afraid dictatorships become of their
own populations- the twin to fear is aggression. Putin over reacting against a harmless
protest by three young women. The church needs to look hard at its support of
Putin - the Christian theme being about love and forgiveness, not a blind
obsession with the brick and mortar. The support of the mass killing and criminal
government in Syria by Russia, China and Iran, is likely to be in part a warning
to their own populations the consequence of large scale protest. Cruel and Vile.

This is a golden opportunity for artists, concerned and responsible business people and the world community to show people like Putin and other despots what the power of the consumer is all about. The time has come for artists to stop appearing in Russia, people to make sure they do not buy any goods that are produced in Russia or bring profit back to that region and tourists to stop traveling to Russia until these three women are unconditionally released. It is fine for Madonna to wear a T-Shirt with their name on it in Moscow but how about Madonna and all the other stars and business people say bye to Russia and anything associated with it until these 3 women are unconditionally freed? Governments posture and talk about human rights all the time. Time for them to shut the door on Russia and others with trade embargoes until the leaders and judges and religious bigots go away. This isn't just about Putin. If we can all rise out of our apathy and use this it will shake world leaders to the core about what they do and say that they had better respect human rights and freedoms. Close your wallets to Russia and book other vacations to countries with proper human rights records.

    jumping on the band-wagon

I think it a terrible thing they did in the church. No repect. Nevertheless, putting away young girls for a couple of years in jail is such as waste and can make these girls more resentful. They should have been sentenced doing community work..
