The Guitarist From Paul Ryan's Favorite Band BASHES Him

Paul Ryan gets bashed by his favorite band

The Republican presidential campaign is facing some harsh rejection from all of the musicians they listen to.

Silversun Pickups recently sent Mitt Romney a cease and desist letter because he's been using the song Panic Switch at appearances without their permission. Now, the guitarist from Paul Ryan's favorite band is saying that the Vice Presidential candidate is one of his least favorite people!

In an op-ed for Rolling Stone, Tom Morrello of Rage Against The Machine has labeled Ryan as "the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades."

The guitarist acknowledges that Ryan has stated he prefers Rage's sound to their songs' lyrics, but doesn't let him off the hook as he continues:

Ryan claims that he likes Rage's sound, but not the lyrics. Well, I don't care for Paul Ryan's sound or his lyrics. He can like whatever bands he wants, but his guiding vision of shifting revenue more radically to the one percent is antithetical to the message of Rage.

I wonder what Ryan's favorite Rage song is? Is it the one where we condemn the genocide of Native Americans? The one lambasting American imperialism? Our cover of F*ck the Police? Or is it the one where we call on the people to seize the means of production? So many excellent choices to jam out to at Young Republican meetings!

Don't mistake me, I clearly see that Ryan has a whole lotta "rage" in him: A rage against women, a rage against immigrants, a rage against workers, a rage against gays, a rage against the poor, a rage against the environment. Basically the only thing he's not raging against is the privileged elite he's groveling in front of for campaign contributions.

It looks like Paul Ryan may have inadvertently enraged his favorite band! Although, we find it odd that Ryan would refer to Rage Against The Machine as his favorite band and NOT appreciate their lyrics.

After all, lyrics are a pretty substantial part of a band because — on top of the drum beats and guitar riffs — they are what separates one band from another.

Oh well. At least the Republicans will always have Ted Nugent in their corner!

It's so unfortunate for musicians, artists, actors, and others when they open their mouths. It's then their ignorance abounds. And that's when I become disinterested! I want to be entertained. I could care less about their political opinions! Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, I DON"T CARE! It is also sad and biased though to see musicians try to ban their music from republican campaigns because they disagree with their political views. ANYONE can use music so long as royalties or fees are paid.

Tom Morrello = hypocritical, pretentious, ignorant twat. The dumb shit doesn't mind the money his music has made him; he's part of the establishment, and I bet he rages all the way to the bank. Somebody needs to sew that asshole's lips shut before he makes a bigger ass of himself. He's as genuine in his rage as Springsteen is about his care and concern — as well as what he has in common — with the blue-collar working man.

Barack and Biden's assholes just puckered.
Paul Ryan is, Rage Against the Obama Regime's transcendence to the political gutter in under four years.
Can't wait for the debates against bufoon Biden and smartest man in the room, Paul Ryan.
Thank you, Mitt for serving up a true fiscal Conservative to help you turnaround this country!
Obama's idea inventory, expired date-stamped perishables of the collectivist state.

RYAN + ROMNEY = FUCKED UP COUNTRY. Yes, celebrity or not. EVERYONE is speaking out. Even Republicans know a bad choice when they see one. I noticed that people are too stuck on Republicans vs Democrats rather than really paying attention to the issues. There goes the Anti-Christ right there. He creeps me the f*ck out. I hope the people are smart enough not to vote for these bastards. They are everything that is wrong with this country.

His name is Paul Ryan, and he can do it with optimism and a smile on his face, with and no bitterness and so forth.
This pick told me that Romney is not just serious about winning, but governing.
He could have gone with Rubio, pandering for the Latino vote or Condi for the Black female vote.
We've got somebody who can articulate what we believe… in fiscal sanity, small government, low taxes and eliminate death-to-business regulations.
Paul Ryan doesn't need crib notes or a teleprompter.
He doesn't need a consultant to tell him what to think or how to answer a question.
He knows it. He's lived it. It's his soul. It's in his heart.
That's why I'm jazzed about Ryan and finally excited about Mitt.
We are ready to kick ass and save this nation for our kids and grandkids!
America broke on our watch, so, we'll fix Her on our watch.
80 days till election day. - VOTE FOR FREEDOM - VOTE FOR ROMNEY/RYAN

You're hitting the pipe early this morning, trinigirl. Too funny.
Only in your dreams has Barack & the Bufoon have any magic left for Americans.
This election is a referendum on Barack's performance as POTUS and his dismal failure.
The worst president in our history since Her founding.
Four years ago, he had no record.
His record speaks for itself. EPIC FAILURE.

Re: KateT – Musicians use music to express themselves as artists. Music has had social commentary for years. Bob Dillon, etc. If you are looking to purely be entertained and music with no message or a simplistic one you can deal with please only listen to Katy Perry, Carly Rae Jepsen and the like.

o.k. this can't possibly be true. that hateful fuck paul ryan can't possible have said one of his favorite bands is "rage against the machine" but he doesn't like the lyrics. i mean if he actually said that he is more of a imbecile than anyone with half a brain already knew. the whole point of "rage" is the meaning of their words which goes against basically everything romney/ryan stand for. morrello's last paragraph is a perfect example of ryan's voting record. why would any musician who grew up middle class or poor want their music used by a republican. why would a musician with any compassion for the working class want their music used by these shills for the koch brothers and their ilk.

by the way, here are some of the charities morrello supports and works with. lots helping children and the needy. check them out and give if you can.

    Los Angeles Youth Network

Re: luvs2hustle – why do you bother coming to this site that is clearly liberal. is it because there are virtually no talented conservatives in arts n entertaiment, so you re only choice is to hang with the cool kids.
isn t there some glenn beck blog, or hee haw reunion site that is more applicable to your lawrence welk like political views.

Time to officially stop reading perezhilton. This website put so much negativity on Republicans while supporting the Democrats. We should all see the good in both candidates. Goodbye perezhilton I will definitely be going to a better blog site that isn't so negative!
