Director Tony Scott Leaps To His Death, Commits Suicide In San Pedro

| Filed under: Film FlickersR.I.P.Sad Sad

Oh no! Such sad Hollywood news.

Director Tony Scott leapt to his death on Sunday afternoon. The man pulling the strings behind the scenes on films like Top Gun, True Romance, Man On Fire and most recently Unstoppable, jumped off of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, California.

Sources say that witnesses called 911 when they saw the 68-year-old park his Toyota Prius on the bridge, scale a barrier fence and then take his own life "without hesitation."

Authorities searched the murky water and eventually discovered Ridley Scott's younger brother's body four hours after he had jumped. A suicide note was found in his office.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Donna and two young sons during this difficult time. He was a talented filmmaker and we'll miss his continued contributions to the entertainment industry, but have plenty of great movies to remember him by.

Rest in peace, Tony.

    RIP, brilliant and kind man.

Late again, Mario. I guess you were thinking that posts about yourself were more interesting or more relevant than a post about this man who was in the entertainment business (unlike YOU, who is WAY out on the fringes). You are a self-absorbed, ridiculous homo. There's no question in my mind why everyone feels contempt for you, and I come here every day to make sure you don't escape it. I know you read the comments; your ego demands it.

    RIP Tony

How awful. And what a violent and painful way to decide to end your life too. My heart goes out to his family & friends. Hope you're at peace now Tony & thanks for the great films.

aww. least he leaves a great legacy in films. He is very much responsible for the modern day action film genre that the likes of Michael bay create. Only he did it with a tad more intelligence and a lot less cgi…which he hated.

typical nowadays exit before the credits roll.

Gotta feel real sorry for his kids. How they gonna take this?

Fuck anybody that commits suicide and leaves kids behind. Selfish, thoughtless, heartless.
