Oh no! Such sad Hollywood news.
Director Tony Scott leapt to his death on Sunday afternoon. The man pulling the strings behind the scenes on films like Top Gun, True Romance, Man On Fire and most recently Unstoppable, jumped off of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, California.
Sources say that witnesses called 911 when they saw the 68-year-old park his Toyota Prius on the bridge, scale a barrier fence and then take his own life "without hesitation."
Authorities searched the murky water and eventually discovered Ridley Scott's younger brother's body four hours after he had jumped. A suicide note was found in his office.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Donna and two young sons during this difficult time. He was a talented filmmaker and we'll miss his continued contributions to the entertainment industry, but have plenty of great movies to remember him by.
Rest in peace, Tony.
