Britney Spears 'Suffers Serious Medical Issue' ; Conservatorship Explained

britney spears medical issue conservatorship

First and foremost, we just want to say we LOVE the impeccable Britney Spears.

Her impact on pop music will live forever… and so will her super saucy attitude!! Ha!

But we've just heard that the real reason to continue on with her conservatorship is a "serious medical issue" that hinders her ability to consistently make sound decisions.

According to documents filed on Tuesday, there are certain "highly sensitive" records that could cause "irreparable harm and immediate danger" to Brit-Brit if certain details were to ever be leaked.

While multiple sources are confirming these records to be of a medical nature (pertaining to a disorder that can "affect" her personality), don't expect any of the details to find their way outside the protection of the law anytime soon.

The judge in her conservatorship case has "urgently" been asked to seal the documents because of said sensitivity.

But don't worry — multiple sources also say she's in AMAZING shape right now. But the conservatorship needs to be in place to ensure her wonderfulness for the foreseeable future.

And we also wanna point something out here — the brain is an organ just like the heart. We undergo treatment when our heart hurts, so why such a stigma over disorders dealing with personalities, etc??

Britney has had it tough the past few years, but honestly, she seems to be doing great and Im really excited for the x factor! she is the only reason why Im watching it! I think she is healthy and happy looking and I am super happy for her!!

When did she develop this condition?
She seemed fine before her breakdown………………

  3. Just wondering? says – reply to this

Mental illness is NO joke! Though I have never followed Britney I am glad she has help. My question? If she has to have people appointed to take care of her and make her life decisions can she really enter into a contract like marriage? Wishing her the best?

  4. 4

And yet they will allow her to marry. No you can't handle your own finances, but you can choose your mate for life.

I am so glad to read something I agree with on this website. I despise that there is a stigma associated with mental health disorders. Anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, whatever. We are people, too, and we can't control if our brains choose to not function "normally". Thank you for that last paragraph. So many people struggle with mental health issues and I wish it wasn't something society thinks you should be ashamed of. It makes recovery a lot more difficult when you feel so alone when really the person next to you could be struggling with the exact same thing!

  6. 6

Bitch already can't walk because of her busted ass knee, and she doesn't even sing live in the studio anymore. Her voice is on a hard drive in Louisiana. She might as well just sit at a table and get paid from here on out.

  7. 7

What the hell kind of cryptic/exploitative article is this!!??? You are heavily hinting at some sort of schizoid disorder for shock value, and then… You are such a tool!!

I love Britney, she's such a trooper. I kind of thought the conservatorship was bogus for the last several months, or even years since she seems to be doing extremely well for herself in all aspects of her life (from what we can see on the outside, at least), but if there's a legit reason and it's truly in her best interests and means she will continue to live a stable life and maintain a successful career, I'm all for it. As long as Britney is happy!

  9. David says – reply to this

Could of sworn you were calling her fat and stuff and wishing she was dead not too long ago but now you love Britney Spears, mmm I don't buy it but nice try.

I also want to thank you for the final paragraph. The stigma associated with mental illness is so unfortunate and discourages people from seeking treatment. The fact is that my body doesn't produce a chemical it needs to remain balanced. Some people don't produce insulin and no one calls them crazy.

  11. Grant says – reply to this

THis is such bullshit!! Spreading what ever medical information this is on those documents is totally illegal and against HIPPA. There is no way people have seen these and have been able to spread them around. Good try idiot life ruiners that are trolling the internet.

  12. 12

I think Britney has amazing fans that will support her no matter what. I agree there is a huge stigma over mental illness that is so unfair and unnecessary. People are afraid to let others know they have an illness because they are afraid to be judged. It isn't right. I hope people become less freaked out by mental illness in the future, I think that it would help people cope with what they are going through.

how could ph sell space, knowing he has mocked them in the past, and even moreso, their terrible human rights violations, including the ulitimate violation (see narconon arrowhead).
    shame on you ph!
you are prob signing onto this scientology charade, arent ya'?
    na-nu. na-nu.
    you are a mess ph!

  15. 15

Re: movedtocomment – Her handlers are really messed up.

  16. 16

People with mental illness never realize how sick they are. She's about to get married, she needs the conservatorship to protect her. Her fiance is totally pimping her out.

  17. 17

To me, I find this sad and disgraceful to people. She is probably bipolar or has some other sort of mental illness consistent with her behavior. Yeah, she went bat-shi*, but who hasn't felt sort of like that?
So many people deal with mental illness. I suffer from Panic Disorder - it gets really tough. But I won't hide it. It is a part of me.
They want their money. I think they need her under a close eye, if she does have something like Bipolar, because she has a history of bad episodes. But do not treat her like a child - let her live and enjoy the GOOD time she is having.

  18. katelily says – reply to this

Her behaviour seems to indicate she is bipolar

  19. 19

This such BS!! Just last week they reported it was because so she would not have to testify in the Sam lutfi case. Make up ur damn minds u so called sources.

Re: Amy – Actually it's both, it's a muscular organ. A regular muscle can't do what the heart does

  21. lori says – reply to this

If she is suffering from a diagnosed mental illness, then they should just say so. No one would think less of her for it. Certainly not her fans. And it might actually be helpful to some out there with similar problems. With the aid of treatment and her family shes been able to battle her way back. No shame in that.

  22. 22

I (seriously) LOVE YOU, BRITNEY!!!! You're an AMERICAN LEGEND!!!! Your fans worship and adore you and will always stand behind your amazingness!!!! XO :-)

"We've just heard" aka you just made it up. Die in a fire…

  27. 27

Yeah, I have to suffer living with Bipolar II every day. Not only does it suck and no medication really seems to help (at least for me), but you have to be careful who you share it with because there is still such a negative stigma attached to it despite the fact that it's more common than people think. I can certainly empathize with Britney. I know it's not her obligation, but think of the impact it would make if she did in fact come out and discuss whatever condition she has to raise awareness. But again, it's no her obligation.

  28. 28

Glad she is bouncing back, her mother worked her to the core, seems like she improved when her dad got in the picture

  33. fancypants66 says – reply to this

Why the "stigma" over personality disorders? Because she has children, you dumb ass!!! No one would care otherwise. Personality disorders are very serious. They have to be controlled with medication and therapy, and a judge would never let the kids go back to her via conservatorship without these things in place. Do you even have a brain?

  34. 34

Think maybe she has bipolar also, have a cousin who has that, she is fine as long as she takes her meds.

  35. 35

Re: FatAzzPooHeadDoodle – back atcha ;)

  36. Cla says – reply to this

It's so important to let people know more about mental health! And that it's not a person's fault or whatever. When you have the help of loved ones, therapy and the proper medication your life can be so much better!!!
But Britney doesnt seem to be exactly on the right meds to me…

  37. 37

if she is bipolar, she shouldnt hide it because people dont understand. some of the most creative and inspirational, artists, musicians, actors, comedians etc suffer from bipolar disorder. honestly, how do you think she is so talented?

  38. 38

Re: Grant – "ruiners that are trolling the internet. " you are the troll, or at best just an ignorant dipshit. Your post would be so much more believable and coherent if you knew what the fuck you are talking about. there is NO such thing as HIPPA, if you knew what you're talking about you would AT LEAST get the anacronym right. HIPAA

  39. windbourne says – reply to this

Interesting that authorities don't think she is stable enough to handle the money that she made. Due to illness?? (sharing the guesses as to what's wrong with the public??) However, no problems with pushing her on those tours and she's trustworthy enough to be paid multiple millions to be a judge on a talent show. Looks kind of like who ever has been enjoying controlling her finances wants to continue no matter what it does to her reputation as being incompetant. It's her money to lose and more than likely her label would give her some advice as to a financial advisor. She earned it and she wants to be in control. Has she committed some crime that says she is a danger to other people if she has her own money? If anything, this knobby out come will infuriate her and make her go off the rails more than……….oh forget it. Hope the best for you Britney.

  40. barny says – reply to this

This whole conservatorship has become a Joke and is nothing Bullshit. Her Dad,his Lawyers and the Doctors do not want to end it because of the easy money they are stealing from Britney. If she had serious Mental issues how did she put out an album, have a Woorld Tour and be a Judge on XFactor. If the Judge in her case does not see this and allows it to continue she is too Stupid to continue being a Judge.Britneys Attorney should put in a request for a new Judge.

  41. 41

44 minutes before you posted this copied story, you posted that she wanted and would be out by winter. only staying in now so she would not have to testify on sam lufti action. you are so COMPLETELY FULL OF SHIT

  42. 42

I guess the MK Ultra still isn't sinking in, is it? Good for her.

Re: Amy – dumb the heart is an organ. it is made up of muscle but its an organ. it has a function. why dont you read a book instead of trolling the internet

  44. Michael says – reply to this

    Okay, I'll say it…

If she has a mental disease that can affect her personality and warrants conservatorship, why does she have custody of her kids? They (Perez too) make it sound so horrible. Why would it cause her harm for people to know? Is she volatile? She can make bad decisions, apparently, so what's really going on? Is this the reason behind her breakdown? She seemed so healthy and normal before that period of time. If it were too horrible, you'd think that K-Fed would have the kids or something, right?

Whatever the issue, I hope she's okay. She's fucking fabulous no matter what. And I agree. There is such a stigma with mental illness. Ugh.

Poor Britney. My friend has Bipolar disorder and it is sad because you can't control what your brain does sometimes. I think Britney seems to be doing well right now. I will keep her in my prayers.

    Personality, perhaps Borderline Personality Disorder?

  49. 49

Re: movedtocomment – In fairness, though, it's not like she's just had difficulty balancing her checkbook. Probably pretty complicated.

The conspiracy theorist in me says, of course, that the parents are involved because they've been living off her for so long and I'm sure they've "groomed" this guy in some manner — don't want another Kevin Federline inpregnanting their cash cow/baby girl.

  50. PoorBrit says – reply to this

I'm not a doctor but I really don't think she is bipolar or borderline; most people can still function to an extent with those diseases. It sounds to me like it must be something more extreme like multiple personality disorder or pschizophrenia, especially if you consider her highly erratic behavior during her meltdown, including talking in a British accent, shaving her head, wearing strange wigs, locking her kids in a bathroom and biting them, and basically being in a psychosis for a long period of time until she finally got the help she needed.

Either way, if she can't control her finances and essentially her life, she should be taking care of herself and staying out of the public eye. If her family truly cared about her, they would remove her from the environment that has contributed to her mental problems. She obviously cannot make that decision on her own right now. She's been a puppet and robot all her life…it's really sad.

  51. lisbellas says – reply to this

i'm not sure of what to think… i want her to be happy, even it means shell move to Lousianna and raise her sons on her Serenity mansion, otherwise i admire her talent, stage presence, her smile, she shine! and would love if she chooses to stay in the music industry. I'm with the comments though… people seemed more respectfull with her medical issues. shes working hard, despite her situation… way to Britney, we REEEEEAAALLYY love you! (sorry 4 the bad english)

  52. Jacko says – reply to this

If anything ever leaks, I'm sure you will be one of the first to report it, you two-faced shit.

  53. 53

I've loved and supported the beautiful Britney since baby one more time came out when I was ten years old without ever stopping, and quite frankly I find this insulting. Mainly because I remember the 2007 VMAs like it was yesterday and how you lashed out and insulted Brit from that point forward up until the Circus album came out a couple of years ago; then all of a sudden it was "I love Britney forever" bullshit. Way to be a hypocritical, flip flopping d-bag.

  54. bama says – reply to this

    Hey all,
Britney was essentially deemed retard by the judge. No joke unfortunately. Don't let philton fool you. Look up the definition of conservatorship so you can see for yourself.
It's sad though. If the public ignores what is wrong with her, she is going to continually be used as a pawn for other peoples benefit. The truth about her should be told instead of skirting around it like this article, and the media, is doing.

So now you're acting all supportive of her after you wished death upon her in 2007 and ripped her apart every day. Two faced jerk. She doesn't need your support.

omg britney is a survivor. i can't express how much i love her and how much i look up to her for putting on a brave facade. there will never be another britney spears. all these selenas, demis, taylors will be forgotten bu never britney.. she's one of a kind. we're lucky to have experienced a legend like her.

  58. 58

    Re: thh – oh. lollll

  59. 59

I think we have all know that she has been suffering from mental illness for a while now.. it's no new news… she has not been the same britney since her metldown… but I don't think locking her in a cage so to speak helps.. where she has bipolar or borderline personality disorder I really think that she needs to shed light on this.. there is so much stigma around these conditions… like a celebrity who goes through caner always becomes a spokes person or something of that nature… all in all I really think they need to free her! I really feel if thy loosen the chain a little but she could make more of a recovery.

  60. 60

Re: Yo – can't be a lot of little things that snowball.. it does not have to be one big event… I know because I also suffer from mental illness.
