Talk about your Great Expectations!
The Casual Vacancy is the first book J.K. Rowling wrote since
penning a tiny children's series called Harry Potter giving birth to the most massively popular franchise of young adult novels this galaxy ever saw.
It hits shelves September 27 and, needless to say, the entire muggle-born world is curious to see how this plays out!
Two million hardcover copies of Vacancy have casually been pre-ordered and, flop or not, we expect even more will sell!
Rowling's American publisher Michael Pietsch think the "blackly comic" novel is bound for greatness.
"[Reading the 512-page novel] reminded me of Dickens because of the humanity, the humor, the social concerns, the intensely real characters."
Michael omitted to mention his salary likely increases relative to her book sales!
No advance copies have been leaked so we don't know much about the plot other than it revolves around a small English town and the many relationships within.
We sincerely hope it doesn't leave us scratching our heads asking, "What the Dickens did we just read?"
