The man who shot and killed John Lennon won’t be seeing life outside his jail cell anytime soon…!
Mark David Chapman has once again been DENIED parole, after being sentenced to 20 years to life in prison after the 1980 murder of the former Beatle.
This is the SEVENTH time Chapman’s been denied, after requesting parole every two years since 2000.
Board member Sally Thompson, who was present at yesterday’s hearing, stated:
"Parole shall not be granted for good conduct and program completions alone. Therefore, despite your positive efforts while incarcerated, your release at this time would greatly undermine respect for the law and tend to trivialize the tragic loss of life which you caused as a result of this heinous, unprovoked, violent, cold and calculated crime."
Lennon’s killer pled guilty to second-degree murder in 1981, after shooting and murdering John in front of his Manhattan apartment building.
Chapman’s next hearing is scheduled for 2014.
