This is progress!
Alan Chambers, an "ex-gay" and current president of the organization that believed in conversion therapy to "cure" homosexuality, now recognizes that it is impossible for Exodus International to "pray away the gay."
He was enlightened by an episode of Our America With Lisa Ling which investigated the controversial practice. On Tuesday night, the OWN show's finale revisited the topic and Chambers went one step further. He now believes that homosexuals can indeed go to Heaven and told Lisa Ling:
"Do I think there are people living a gay Christian life who are going to be in heaven with me? I do. If they have a relationship with God."
Watch the extended interview from the episode that questions the practice of praying away the gay (above) to learn how one supporter of the "unethical and potentially harmful" therapy had a significant change of heart.
