Watch Out, Netflix! Amazon Gets MORE Shows!

Parks And Rec Amazon

Amazon.com definitely knows how to bring in the business!

The online retailer just announced Friday that it’ll be adding a variety of NBC shows for customers to watch as a part of its Prime Instant Video service!

For just $79 a year, customers can get UNLIMITED two-day free shipping on whatever they buy from Amazon, along with access to the free videos!

Not a bad deal at all!

Previous seasons of shows such as Heroes, Parks And Recreation and Parenthood will all be made available, on top of about 22,000 movies and other various TV eps!

Sounds pretty cool to us…especially if you already do tons of shopping on the site!

With them about to start adding sales tax in California and their SLOW shipping, Amazon should focus on retaining their core clients and not on offering digital copies of really bad shows from NBC. I get it…. they want people to sign up for prime, but this business model of alienating the majority of your customers with slow shipping is a bad idea. And like netflix, I know this $79 for free shipping, ebooks and bad digital NBC shows will have to go up in price at some date. Not getting suckered into that again.

Amazon Prime could make Netflix obsolete. There is discounted student pricing for annual membership. There is also extended discounts for Prime members. I've more than made up the price of membership with order savings alone, not to mention shipping.

Their Prime Video interface, at least on PS3, needs some work. However, their choices, especially on TV shows, has many titles that Netflix doesn't have. But Netflix has a lot of titles Amazon doesn't have, so there is currently balance. Netflix already has Parks & Recs, Heroes, and Parenthood, so it's not a huge get. Amazon's free access to The West Wing and the first 3 seasons of Fringe is more awesome then what is listed. And they have Hey Dude!

I will never support amazon again. Especially after their idiot president donated $2 million for gay marriage in Washington st. Hopefully it will be $2 million wasted when the residents of Washington (and rest of the United States) realizes that gay marriage is immoral!

As for now, if you are comparing amazon to other streaming it is ridiculous. I would be happy to give Amazon the $79 but I looked through the shows and movies and the only one you would want to watch you have to pay individually for(not covered under prime)—Member or not. I am a little surprised you would be pushing it? Common sense would tell you that to get more movies and shows(or any someone wants to watch) they will raise their prices.
