True Blood Creator Alan Ball Says 'Thank You' To The Fans

| Filed under: TV NewsAlexander SkarsgårdTrue Blood

Aww! This was a nice gesture!

True Blood creator Alan Ball realizes that his hit HBO show wouldn't be a hit without the fans, so he wanted to thank them in person (or as close to that as he could get) before the season five finale aired on Sunday night.

He's stepping down as showrunner of the vampire drama, so the video (above) also serves as a farewell to those who have faithfully tuned in since it premiered on premium cable in 2008.

While he's thanking people like us for watching, we have to thank him right back for giving us such a remarkable show to end our weekend with for the last five years! Not to mention, hiring such a seksi cast!

Without Mr. Ball's fine eye for fine-looking talent, our eyes may never have been introduced to ASkars, the finest fanger of them all!

Thank you, Alan! THANK YOU!

Saw this and also told Alan Ball that I loved the Finale.
Just wished that Bill Compton had stayed Dead.
    Can't wait for Season 6.

True Blood will do so much better without him. The past 3 seasons have sucked. He seems like he would be controlling a lot of whats going into the show and what's not. Someone else's vision on this amazing show would be nice because it hasn't been working out. What happened to the show?? season 1 & 2 were sooo good then we got 3-5 season which has WAY too many sub plot lines, too many minutes spent on a useless conversation between two characters that aren't Sookie, Bill, or Eric. The books are Sookie's point of view but some how the show likes to include 200 different points of view resulting in wasted precious time to really develop sookie's story in the show. Like Terry and his old comrade's story line with the firing demon curse?! WHAT THE HELL. NO ONE CARES. The time it took to finally end that story line, they could've spent that time telling Eric's/bill's/sookie's/or Pam's story. Those 4 have the most interesting storylines in the book. JUST STICK TO THE BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alan Ball created something amazing; it’ll be interesting to see what direction the show takes without him. I started watching True Blood, after a co-worker at Dish insisted that it was different from anything else in the genre. I loved the dark tone of the show, and the premise was indeed, unique. In order to cope with the wait for the new season, I’ve been renting the previous ones with Blockbuster @Home. It’s so easy to order the DVDs by mail, or exchange them in the store, and it’s nice to see how far the characters have come. Alan left the show in capable hands; I can’t wait to see how they handle Billith next season.

What a disappointment this latest series of True Blood was. It was rubbish. I wanna see Sookie, Eric, Bill, Pam and Tara together in scenes yet that hardly happened. Too many sub plots and so many boring characters. Like someone wrote series 1 and 2 was the best lets hope the next series improves or else i wont be watching no more. It sucked!

I'm so glad that Bill didn't die and I'm looking for to see what kind of villain he's going to be. I have to say though, I still want Sookie and Eric to get together and I would love for Alan Ball to give Tara a theme song and I know the perfect one; Blood by In This Moment. I could so see Tara doing a little striptease to that song at Fangtasia. :) Can't wait until season 6!
