The star of Transformers 3 is desperate to convince us he's a Serious Actor.

Shia LaBeouf claims there's a necessary method to his madness acting process and who are we to argue?

We discovered the actor was balls deep in moonshine on the Lawless set and we just learned he dropped acid to prep for a role in the upcoming Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman!

The dude from Indiana Jones 4 revealed:

"There's a way to do an acid trip like Harold & Kumar, and there's a way to be on acid. What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that (electric) chair in Dead Man Walking. These are the guys that I look up to."

Is he really comparing himself to Sean Penn?

That's an absurd a bold statement but, for all we know, Shia was still tripping ballz!

Let's do a quick comparison:

Sean won two Oscars and was nominated for five. We aren't sure Shia was even invited.

Sean's range extends from a death row killer to America's first openly gay mayor. Shia is best known for staring alongside CGI robots in three movies based on toys.

Yup, probably the acid talking!

    What an arrogant little jew.

Whoever wrote this should watch "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints". LeBeouf is excellent and proves his serious acting chops. So does Tatum Channing actually.

Serious actor my ass. He's a fame-hungry nut case. He's so full of crap.

  4. 4

Everyone needs to stop hiring this douche bag jew. He's a big-mouthed jerk.

  5. 5

Make him go away please…he was the most awful thing in Wall Street 2.

  6. 6

I seriously LOL'd… what a pompous pretentious asshole this guy. I hope he goes away SOON!

And I actually laughed at this line: "Sean won two Oscars and was nominated for five. We aren't sure Shia was even invited."
Finally, something funny on this site!!

Obvious attempt to sound cool is obvious.

Re: ELH – I agree with you. He was amazing in that movie. As was Channing Tatum.
He wasn't comparing himself to Sean Penn; he was just saying that he looks up to him when it comes to acting and commitment.

Re: SquareChic – THANK YOU! I love Shia! He wasnt comparing, simply stating he looks upto him.

Re: SquareChic – YES. I don't see where he says "I'm like Sean Penn." He brought him up as an example of who he looks up to. I don't see the arrogance in what he's saying. Perez, and others, obviously dislike him from the first and read whatever they can into his comments. Shia is a very talented actor. Forget his personal life, he's amazing at what he does and he brings in the money, which is why he keeps getting work.
BTW, is that Gemma Arterton on your avatar?? I LOVE her! :D

Dude has seriously let himself go

Umm Sean Penn wasn't electrocuted in that movie. He was killed by lethal injection. Just sayin…

Re: swedishfish23 – see how it says electric in brackets, that means someone else has added that. Shia didn't say it.

He wasn't comparing himself to Sean Penn, he was simply stating that he looks up to him as an actor. Something which I'm sure is incredibly common amongst aspiring/young actors. Stop trying to take the kid down a notch Perez. Admittedly he has said some stupid stuff in the past, but you are flat out twisting his words here. You should be ashamed.

He said he looked up to him you moron, he wasn't saying that he's on his level.

I would choose to watch Shia over Sean Penn any day! There just is and always has been something about him. He in no way seems arrogant or full of himself. As a matter of fact, he seems very down to earth in spite of his fame. It appears to me that other males seem to be jealous of him. How dim witted! It's not like he can help it that he's gorgeous and actually seems to have inner worth. Nor should he have to apologize for that. Better yourself and maybe you will no longer need to hate.

  17. 17

Oh Shia…What is happening to you? I loved you so.

What is the obsession with this litle turd being a Jew? Here's a little chart for you:

Shia LaBeouf - born to non-Jewish father and Jewish mother (OBVIOUSLY, hence the last name)
Logan Lerman, Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt - all born to two Jewish parents, each

Why don't you talk about them being Jewish instead? Thanks.

Don't be mean…I'm not a fan of Shia Laeouf, but he wasn't comparing himself to Sean Penn, he was saying he looked up to him as a role model for an actor.

  20. 20

How was he comparing himself to Sean penn. He said "he strapped himself to a chair" "those are the guys I look up to" that wasn't a comparison. Whats also funny is perez's extremely condescending tone. Shia was invited to the Oscars, Shia has also been in some of the biggest blockbusters this decade.

Perez, is a failed actor, a failed blogger, a failed music mogul. Everything you have done has failed. He wanted to be famous only problem was he has no talent. so then he resorted to trash talking celebs and getting paid for it. He does it solely out of bitterness. Those who can't do, critique :)

Re: NookiesWA – I agree completely. perez's just twisting words. or is a dumbass. or both

  22. 22

Jeez Perez, give him a break! Shia is really a great actor. He's a much better actor than many A-listers, for that matter. Btw, way to downplay the CONTEXT of the Transformers movies, dumbass… the fact that they were based on "toys" doesn't mean shit. The movie franchise made hundreds of millions of dollars and Shia did an excellent job acting in each one. You just have a website…

the author of this article is obviously a jealous and sad little person. what if you named one of your influences, probably some irrelevant famous writer like Jack Kerouac.

Anybody can say why are you comparing yourself to him, your just a talentless tabloid writer who exploits peoples lives for money, and all your influences are better than you in every way.

    25

Are you a moron? He said those are the actors he looks up to, not "Those are the actors on my level." Even if he had said "Those are the actors I'm trying to be like." still wouldn't be comparing himself to them. You should brush up on your reading comprehension.
