Whether you wanted it or not, it doesn't sound like there will be an Evil Dead 4: Consequences any time soon.
A company by the name of Awards Pictures was in the middle of producing the sequel, but was then sued last May by the original film's director, Sam Raimi, and his own production company, Renaissance Pictures.
Since the defendants failed to find representation to respond the suit in time, the judge issued a default ruling that permanently enjoins Award Pictures from using the the Evil Dead trademark.
The losers in this legal fight aren't giving up though. Glenn MacCrae, the president of the small production shingle, says he "is very definitely contesting Renaissance’s lawsuit."
In the meantime, horror fans are anxiously awaiting Raimi's own reboot of his classic trilogy which was announced last fall and has recently wrapped with Suburgatory's Jane Levy as the lead.
