Clint Eastwood's Speech Was NOT A Part Of His Reality Show

| Filed under: TV NewsMedia MinutePolitikBarack Obama

Hey, stranger things…

Apparently, people think Clint Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night (above) was SO weird, awkward and cray cray that they're assuming it HAD to be part of his reality show, Mrs. Eastwood & Company.

However, sources are assuring the world that the Hollywood icon was not encouraged by any producer of the show to talk down to an invisible Barack Obama in an effort to pump up the crowd.

This thought never really crossed our mind, but maybe a lot of Dirty Harry fans were giving the actor the benefit of the doubt.

No matter what people thought of the unusual speech, it was ALL Clint's idea. No one, not even his family knew what he was going to do or say when he reached podium, but someone close to him has assured he "acts that way all the time at home."

Considering he's 82-years-old, we don't have any trouble believing he rambles on like a senile old man on the reg. LOLz!

I love Clint, he is an icon and a legend. But the moment he agreed to do a reality show I thought he must be loosing his marbles.

I thought it was a little weird, but in the end, it very effectively reduced Obama to the little man behind the curtain, and reminded Americans that our government answers to us, and that the real power is in our hands.
This is an important message, because we have a President whose modus operandi, is to bully ordinary citizens into submission, and he is supported by a legion of mythmakers, who control nearly every channel of mass communication.
My sense is that many people are genuinely frightened by the prospect of his reelection, and have been made to believe that resistance is futile.
It helps to be reminded that we own this country, that our elected officials work for us, and that we have the power to hold them accountable.

I thought it was a good bit, the proof in how good it was, because of the HUGE carping by the pundits….it's just a taste of the Palinization of Clint.
Even the lofty and great Lincoln Gettysburg address was widely panned at the time too.
It shows how little the Marxist ideology can stand up to any scrutiny or mockery.
    Dictators are so humorless.

The" Empty Chair" was just symbolic of all the empty promises and basically empty chair at the whitehouse VOID of any leadership. Even an idiot could figure that out. Clint Eastwood was amazing and brilliant and being in his 80's is still smarter than Obama!

Liberals are just seething that one of theirs snuck out of their liberal box and spoke the truth about Obama.

I am not American, but that was a fabulous, unscripted, and totally heartfelt speech. It was clever and highly entertaining at the same time. Clint Eastwood ROCKS!

The fact that yoiu "lolz" and the end of your comment of "old and senile" reflects just what readers on here have always suggested of you…..you have not changed.

You spew your "isms" but laugh at older people with conditions.
Preach forgiveness but rail against Kristen Stewart.
Profess to be homosexual but slobbers over straight men.
Your single and empty now and in 39 years…you will be single and empty then.
    I gaurantee it.

Re: LiberalsMakeMeSick – Actually, Clint lifted the "empty chair" bit from comedian Bob Newhart, who has been doing that routine for years.

  7. 7

Meggie, I loved Bob Newhart…so low key with such funny results.
I don't remember the chair routin,e but I do remember his holding a telephone right next to his ear and talk to the imaginary person.

Clint Eastwood was alotted 3 minutes, he rambled for 11 minutes and was embarassingly
crass. What a representation of the GOP.

    Re: luvs2hustle – Ditto - he's one-of-a-kind and so unassumingly funny.

Meggie, I love your icon! I don't know where Clint got it from but he is brilliant. He is an American icon and shame on anyone who attacks him for voicing his opinion.

I don't remember a lot of problems for Clint when he was endorsing Obozo on a Superbowl commercial last January.
The gross intolerance of the "tolerant Left" is on display, to all those that need a job in Hollywood, and they ALL TOW THE LINE.
I don't blame them, I would do the same.
Clint knew what was going to happen to him.
He was brave to go through this.
    Kudos Clint.

His performance was modeled after Bob Newhart's old comedy routines.

Clint Eastwood is a legendary entertainment performer and creator with seven decades of industry success and acclaim. This is a blog run by a failed actor who, frankly, is fucking stupid. You be the judge.

  14. 14

Um, it's not HIS reality show, it's his wife's, which would be why it's called Mrs. Eastwood & Company. He wanted nothing to do with it from the get go and if you knew anything at all about it, you would know that he's typically not even on it. The show is about his wife, her company, & a couple of their kids.

  15. 15

Clint is an entertainer, and his speech was very clever and entertaining! Loved it!

  16. 16

He is ancient and he is CLINT fukkin' EASTWOOD fer gosh sake. He can do whatever he wants at this point and I'll love him even more. And I have no idea about politics in the USA so no, I don't care who he is speaking for or against.

  17. 17

That was hard to watch. What a fumbling mumbling mess. Obama WILL get another four years. No one could do any better right now. Just empty promises to get the votes. I'm rocking the vote. For Obama.

  18. 18

Re: trinigirl123 – You should be an expert on empty promises since your guy wrote the book on them.
You can tell how effective the speech was by how loudly the media screeches. In this case I would call it a grand slam. Those in the media aren't stupid, they totally GOT Clint's message. Their only counter attack is to pan it and paint him, as Perez does, as a senile old man. You can smell the fear on the left.

  19. 19

This ancient actor, who has never done anything for anyone but himself, has the nerve to talk down to the President of the United States. So-called conservatives are such hypocrites. The office deserves respect and NOTHING any Teabagger can say will present a case that Obama has let the office down. He's done his best in some of the hardest times this nation has faced (caused by the very people who want to seize power this November) and has done a good job. Of course he's black, so it's open season on calling him racist names and acting like he's not deserving of respect.

Re: Squirrel – And what WAS his message? Did he explain ANYTHING to you or did he just rank pointlessly? Obama Derangement Syndrome is so strong in the Republican Party that any mentally ill idiot who says Obama is a secret Muslim here to destroy our country from within is catapulted to the top of the right wing "intellectual" leadership.

  21. 21

…my friend made the gun used in dirty hairy. he approached clint and tried to talk to him. he says ,clint was a total rude prick….thats it. !

Re: Squirrel – LOL What are you talking about? Clink is a JOKE now. What media are you looking at sweetie?
